What to expect
Murallas del Albayzin
The Albaycín is one of the ancient nuclei of Muslim Granada, together with the Alhambra, the Realejo and the Arrabal de Bib-Arrambla, in the flat part of the city. It was a neighborhood where about 40,000 people resided, and there were about 30 mosques. Its streets are winding, narrow and elusive; its squares are luminous, secluded and intimate; its palaces, mansions and churches are brimming with history and art. There are still remains of mosques, minarets, Spanish-Muslim cisterns and above all a very Andalusian essence and a taste of everyday life, bustling and cheerful. In the Albaycín there are abundant cármenes, which are houses with gardens, typically Granada and Mudejar towers. The viewpoints of San Nicolás and San Cristóbal offer magnificent views of Granada and the Alhambra. There are still remains of mosques, minarets, Spanish-Muslim cisterns and above all a very Andalusian aftertaste and a taste of everyday life, bustling and cheerful.
Sacromonte
Sacromonte is a picturesque and idyllic place and is the traditional suburb of the gypsies of Granada. They speak in caló. Originally from India, they arrived in Spain in the 15th century, after wandering around Europe and Africa. The reddish, dry hill, bristling with pitas and prickly pears offers panoramas of indescribable beauty: the Alhambra towers, the white slopes of the Albaicinero farmhouse and the greenery of the Valparaíso Valley through which the Darro runs. The caves of Sacromonte are grouped around ravines, forming a kind of streets. The caves of Sacromonte in Granada have been home for centuries to gypsies, bohemians and flamenco artists. Soul possessed of deep passions and dark mysteries that are expressed in the spectacle of their Zambras. In the distribution of caves we usually find the kitchen at the entrance next to the dining room. and one or two bedrooms, according to your possibilities and those of the land.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
