Generalife

The Generalife is the villa with gardens used by the Muslim kings of Granada as a place of retreat and rest. It was conceived as a rural villa, where ornamental gardens, orchards and architecture were integrated in the vicinity of the Alhambra. The name we give to the Generalife complex literally means Yannat al-Arif: "The Architect's Garden", an allusion to the gardens and orchards that supplied fruit and vegetables to the Nasrid court. However, the palace to which we are heading, designed as a resting place for the monarch, was what the poet Ibn al-Jayyab called "the royal house of happiness".

Admission Included

Alcazaba

The Alcazaba is the oldest part of the Alhambra, from the Arabic: القصبة al-qaṣbah (citadel) was a fortified enclosure of urban character, whose function was to serve as royal residence to Mohamed I until the Palaces were finished, from there its function was purely military.

Admission Included

Palace of Carlos V

Carlos V's palace is a Renaissance construction by the architect Pedro Machuca. The palace is unique in its style, forming a square with a circular courtyard inscribed inside. It is the most outstanding work of the Spanish Renaissance.

Admission Included

Palacio El Partal

El Partal integrates archaeological and architectural remains corresponding to palatine rooms. Its name in Arabic means portico, and refers to the remains of the residence of Sultan Muhammad III, the northernmost and oldest. In these gardens, you can see the remains of several palaces, as this area was inhabited by the Muslim nobility. The most important was the Palace of Yusuf III, with a floor plan similar to the Palace of Comares, sadly demolished in the 18th century. The Partal Gardens are an incredible place to stroll or stop during your visit to the Alhambra in Granada.

Admission Included

Nasrid Palaces

The Nasrid Palaces, are a palace complex of the Alhambra of Granada formed by two independent palaces, the Palace of Comares and the Palace of the Lions, and annexes, Mexuar, its construction dates from the first third of the fourteenth century. The Alcázar or "Qasr al-Sultán" was the palace area of the Alhambra, the nucleus of the Nasrid kingdom. In this area resided the sultans, in addition to receiving an audience, dispachar the affairs of government or manage the administration of the court.

We loved the visit but found it wasn't made very clear we needed our original ID to be able to enter so could have ended up not being able to visit, fortunately we had ours but our friends only had a photo which meant they had to go and get authorisation at the ticket office

This agency is best avoided! They charged us 29 euros each for a ticket to the Alhambra, which normally costs 10 euros at the official ticket office. On their website, they falsely presented that it is a COMPLETE ALHAMBRA TICKET, that includes all the sights of the Alhambra (which is clearly written under the "included" option!). After you choose that option and put in the shopping basket, they remove the main attraction Nasrid Palace from your ticket, without you even noticing it. Only when we arrived at Alhambra did we find out that we couldn't enter Alhambra’s biggest attraction. When I asked them why they charged me 29 euros for something that normally costs 10 euros, they said it was their commission fee. For what? For making us climb Alhambra hill up and down (from parking to their office)? Moreover, at the same time, another group of tourists with the same problem was complaining in the office, trying to get at least a refund, after this experience ruined their holiday as they couldn’t visit Nasrid palace anymore. Apparently this is how the TopTour agency makes money, by fooling tourists. I also submitted an official written complaint, and provided them with photos from their site, where it is visible that the selected option included Nasrid palace, but they ignored me by saying that I should have read more carefully what I paid for.

Verschrikkelijke scam!!! Stay away from them! And no refunds allowed because they state it as admin costs

OVerpriced. We bought a generalife ticket first because Nasrid palaces were booked. Then the night before we checked in to make sure we could find the office and “amazingly” Nasrid palace tickets were available. Which included generalife!! So we paid extra to get something twice, which was not needed. We felt ripped off. It really expensive for something that actually isn’t. The audio guide did not always work, was hard to manage, kept bouncing ‘off’. The script is boring. No instructions about how to get from one place to another. Map is mediocre. We finally just stopped using the audio guide and enjoyed the place for what it was. The staff was friendly. The office is easy to find with their directions.

This place is on but is not Unique. I think is overrated. The Nasrid palace was impressive. I did enjoy the fact that was audio and was able to do everything on my own pace.

DON’T BOOK WITH THIS COMPANY. They advertise tickets with guide or audioguide for the Alhambra including the Nasrid Palaces. But once you bought the tickets the Nasrid Palaces are NOT included and they will send you the basic ticket which only gives you access to the surrounded buildings and the gardens. (cost via Alhambra official tickets 10€ and you pay at MyTopTours 31,95). It’s very misleading. After having contact with MyTopTours they told us via Whatsapp that the tickets for the Nasrid Palaces are only available from Oct 2024. So they will never have the possibility to sell you these tickets. I hope that this review will warn people to NOT BUY with this scam company. It all looks very professional but they earn money by misleading tourists.

Meeting point far away from main entrance! Taxi driver didn’t know adresse! Had to go all the way down to get ticket! Audio guide would have to be brought back to same place-so we skipped! Normal ticket is about €20,00 without Audio guide- we paid roughly € 80,00 via Internet! I would never do it again that way!

We received excellent service from the Top Tours office. This was much more efficient than my experience 5 years ago. Thanks to them we were able to spend more time in the Alhambra - especially during the cooler part of the day. The Alhambra really is a totally remarkable experience. The audio guides were very good but you also need to give yourself time to look and observe and absorb. (This is sometimes difficult when large groups of guided tourists take up so much space!)

OK - so there's lots of bad reviews for this company and they had me really worried before we departed as people complained they were a rip off and masquerading as the official alhambra website, and people were not getting their tickets but here's my take... Yes, they do masquerade as the official Alhamba website when they're not. That's my fault, I'm usually good at spotting this stuff but it was late in the day and I was tired. So I'm cross wth myself about this not with them. Yes they did charge more that if I have booked the individual components of the trip seperately, but again, that was my mistake - caveat emptor! We paid 72 Euro for entry including the nasrid palace and general life and for the Nazari meal. If we have organised it ourselves it would still have cost the best part of 55 Euros so I didn't feel too ripped off. Everything came as promised apart from the audio guide - which we didn't really want anyway.

This tour company is a misleading ticket resale operation and downright fraudulent. Through the Google search engine for tickets to the Alhambra in Granada they have a website that has a very similar web address to the official Alhambra website and the website itself mimics the official website. There is no mention that you are not working directly with the Alhambra on their website, except in fine print at the very bottom of the website which I didn't notice as you don't need to scroll down that far to purchase the tickets. Only after you purchase the tickets, which are non-refundable, do you get a confirmation email from My Top Tours and you know you've been duped. The price they charge is very heavily inflated and the confirmation email states that you will not receive the tickets via email until 24-48 hours before your tour date. Sadly I didn't read other reviews of My Top Tour before placing the order as I didn't realize I was dealing with My Top Tour until it was too late. Do not use My Top Tour to get advance tickets to the Alhambra!!!!
