Fun and interesting experience. Learned something. Saw all stages of Tabasco sauce making from the origin of the pepper to final product. 2nd part of the tour we enjoyed driving through the gardens with its unique plants, trees and birds. Several stops along the way allowed small excursions on foot. Since it’s a marshy area, you may want to guard against mosquitoes.

We actually didn't stay for the demo. The class was overbooked. We made our reservations in January 2024. Others in the class made them the day before. The tiny room was already crowded with 2 people standing due to the lack of chairs and table space when another lady knocked at the door and said she had a reservation, too. By this time the class had sort of started with introductions and little welcome speech from the chef. It was booked for 11AM but it was way after 11 before she started the intro. She made numerous trips out of the room to bring in more ingredients to accommodate the large class. It was clear the chef had no idea how many people were signed up for the class. We finally gave up and left. We would like the $113.50 back.

Plenty of history that explains how Tabasco started and is still made today. It took about 2 hours to tour everything at the museum then another 20 minutes at the gift shop. The gardens were a nice drive through tour. We ended up buying a few bottles of different flavors of Tabasco. It was a fun and different kind of day.

Wonderful experience touring the manufacturing plant of one of my favorite condiments. The set up is so well done that self guided tour was a breeze. The shop and restaurant were also very nice. The shop has tasting of several varieties of sauce. I was unaware of many of the varieties and enjoyed tasting and purchasing some for home. The Jungle Gardens are very beautiful and just driving through was a nice way to see it. For any with mobility issues it is worth the time in that you can see a lot from the car.

Didn’t know what to expect, but this was great. Tabasco tour opened our eyes to lots we didn’t know; history of Tabasco production and African-American and Cajun workforce, salt dome, barreling and aging process. Jungle Gardens were wonderful. Oaks with Spanish Moss, bamboo, egrets, alligators. We detoured on way from Memphis to New Orleans to here (spent a night in Lafayette) and it was definitely worth it.

Went late Sunday morning on way home from NOLA. Museum was just okay, but the tour was fascinating--be sure to read everything and play ALL of the videos on the tour. Gumbo, chili, and Bloody Marys were GREAT at the restaurant. Very nice gift shop. Website says tour takes 45 minutes...with lunch and gift shop took almost 2 hours.

The gardens so pretty. Got to see animals that we have ever seen before. Learned a lot about so much

We so enjoyed touring the factory and learning all the Tabasco history and processes. We enjoyed the Bayou Crab Cake and Crawfish Etouffee in the restaurant and shopping in the country store. Finishing off the day with a drive through the Jungle Gardens provided some glorious views of flora and fauna.

From the moment that you exit your vehicle you smell the essence of this place as fermenting pepper permeates the air. The story of this pepper sauce Mecca begins with a tour of the museum detailing the family history and the contributions of the family to conservation. That is followed by a “follow the numbers” tour of the different stages of the evolution of the hot sauce from seed to table. The gift shop is a great place to buy that special keepsake to remember this special place. The grounds are meticulously well-kept and the overall experience to first class.
