Your Itinerary

The Skagit River Bald Eagle Interpretive Center

We will meet in downtown Seattle and drive northeast for 1.5 hours to Skagit River, which is at the foothills of the North Cascade Mountain Range. Here along the river there are many bald eagles nesting in December and January and they are easy to spot in the trees or flying above the river. We will drive to good viewing areas up and down the river between the small towns of Rockport and Marblemount. We will have some snacks at Steelhead Park which is also a good place for eagle spotting and we will learn about the bald eagles at the Skagit River Bald Eagle Interpretive Center in Rockport.

Arlington

We make a stop in a logging town, Arlington where there is a little exhibit about the Suak Suiattle Indian Tribe and the history in the area. We also drive through the Suak Suiattle Indian Tribe reservation near the old town of Darrington on our way back to downtown Seattle.
