Excellent tour, our guide was very knowledgeable and enthusiastic about the history and architecture of the city. Recommended.

Pia is an amazing guide. She provided us with a review of the history of Barcelona going back to Roman times, how the city first developed in the Barri and then expanded out, and how social conditions and architectural evolution impacted the design and development of the different districts and buildings. This tour then puts into perspective a fascinating collection of different buildings--some new, some repurposed factories, and urban planning.

We booked this tour before going to Barcelona. Miguel gave us wonderful advice--we spoke with him by phone before our trip--He suggested that we do the Gaudi tour in the morning, and then do Sagrada Familia in the afternoon . This was perfect. Our guide Pia was amazing. Her background as an architect gave us amazing perspective--in how the buildings were constructed, on Gaudi and modernism, and even technical details--eg the importance of materials and how the arches are constructed to provide large interior spaces. She also gave a wonderful timeline of the history of Barcelona and how it developed going back to Roman times, and the various architectural influences, the development of the various types of blocks and gardens, and how this all coalesced in late 1800s and early 1900s to provide the unique styles. When we later went to the Sagrada Familia and Park Guell, we were able to see things that I am sure we would have missed had we not had this primer. We also saw things during our later walks in town that I am sure we would have missed otherwise.

We enjoyed this Barcelona & Urbanism tour! It was more like a private lecture with Pia, an academic who really knows and enjoys her stuff! The tour provided a broad overview of Barcelona's evolution, from a urbanistic point of view, giving valuable context to the other sites, museums, etc. that we visited during our stay in this vibrant city. We also visited places showcasing how Barcelona continues to evolve and deal with its urbanistic challenges. Be ready to walk and bring water!

I loved going on the urbanism tour—Pia was incredibly knowledgeable about the rich history of BCN city planning and contextualizes a lot of what we had seen on our trip so far.

Pia is a uni prof, and was amazing and incredibly knowledgeable. She had many funny anecdotes and was easy to understand. I could have spent the whole day with her. For people who want to come to Barcelona and get totally oriented on multiple topics - culture, food, politics, history - she is your person!

Very informative tour with interesting and pertinent personal perspective. Pia has extensive knowledge of not only architecture - but history, sociology, culture and politics. Her background and frame of reference made for a very thorough educational and entertaining experience. Thank you !

Pia was so knowledgeable and articulate. I learned a lot more than I expected to and it piqued my interest to learn more. The pace was comfortable for my 82 year old body and the company was great.

The booking and organising aspects of the tour were super: meeting location and contact of guide provided upfront, tour starting on time and a short intro of all attendees. Then Pia gave us a brief overview on the astonishing history of Barcelona. Next we took the walk to a few carefully selected objects in fair distance and learned about current aspects of the urban architecturial development of the city. Pia's endless knowledge and responsiveness to all questions are highlights, but best of all we're her anecdotes and stories of local cultures and particularities of the cities' architecture - highly recommended for all who want to go deeper!
