Gothic Quarter (Barri Gotic)

You will start the tour in the Gothic Quarter, which is the oldest part of the city, dating back 2000 years. The distric has many streets, so small, that most of them are closed to traffic. In Ciutat Vella, where the history of Barcelona first started, you will experience a harmonious mix of modernity with Roman and medieval imprints. You will learn about the Catalan traditions and Barcelona’s origins, while exploring the enchanting corners, picturesque squares and the narrow alleys of the Gothic quarter.

L'Eixample District

After checking out the neighborhood’s most important highlights, we will set our focus on Modernism, crossing the Eixample district and marveling at its iconic Modernist architecture. L'Eixample was designed by Ildefons Cerdà after 1895 , to expand the city. (The word “Eixample” actually means “expansion” in Catalan). Crossing the streets of this elegant neighborhood, you will remark that Cerdà’s idea of urban planning was revolutionary and utopian. This was Barcelona´s 19th-century answer to the overcrowding of the medieval city and Gaudi´s favorite neighborhood to work in. In Eixample, you will pass by some of his most spectacular works, including UNESCO World Heritage Sites like Casa Batlló and Casa Milà.

Passeig de Gracia

(Pass by)

The avenue is home to the most remarkable façades of modernist buildings, including Gaudi’s La Pedrera, Casa Batlló and Domènech's Casa Lleó - Morera or Casa Ametller. While passing by, get amazed by these beautiful houses, that will color in your day.

Basilica de la Sagrada Familia

(Pass by)

Of course, we will also take you to the breathtaking Sagrada Familia. Gaudi's masterpiece is considered as the most emblematic landmark of Barcelona. We will make a stop so you can enjoy and marvel the various fascinating details on the façade of this divine work of art.

Raval

When you will enter the Raval, the former red light district of the city, your private guide will explain its colorful history and point out some of its most emblematic landmarks. For centuries now, this part of Barcelona has been home to many nightclubs, cabarets and taverns. Raval is known as the place where sailors would often go to have fun after reaching the local port. Today, the neigborhood, is a youthfull and sparkling place full of life and movement. Home to skaters and youngsters, boutiques, bars and restaurants.

Playa de La Barceloneta

This bike tour will end at the Barceloneta beach, where the historical district meets the Mediterranean Sea. This was once a fisherman’s neighborhood and still preserves that small-town essence today. Here, you will find lovely chiringuitos (beach bars), authentic Spanish seafood restaurants and colorful buildings with a great local feel. you will have the chance to marvel at amazing views over the Mediterranean. Take a moment to enjoy the fresh breeze as you peddle along the beautiful seafront promenade.

Our tour guide was excellent. She was very knowledgeable and spoke beyond the history of the best of Barcelona. We were on a private tour - - just my husband and I. Therefore, we learned about Barcelona’s finest historical buildings up close and personal. What we also experienced was Barcelona’s worst - - thieves! These young men are around, acting like tourists but were ready you pounce on you. That’s exactly what happened to us. One young man grabbed my husband’s watch and my husband was hurt during the ordeal. We tried running after the thief but they obviously train to rob people. The tour was great. Still do it if you’d like learn the best highlight of Barcelona. But be vigilant, very cautious. Regardless you do a tour, a private tour or on your own, be vigilant! Don’t wear any watch, don’t wear backpacks, carry your purse or bag in front of your body, or take preventive measures. They are watching you, while you are focused in looking at history. It was a very sad experience for us. Even the police (on the streets, on the square, and the police station) cannot do anything because there was no “crime”. As this is what they told us. Our tour guide helped us along the way and we stopped to at least five police teams and they all shook their heads that nothing can be done.

Stephanie’s expert knowledge and passion for architecture made this the perfect tour for our needs. Highly recommend as she took us to all of the places we requested and more. A tour and tour guide extraordinaire!

Alfredo was a skilled, smart, and engaging tour leader. He was so patient and told great stories. Good ride on mostly flat surfaces through diverse areas of the city. Alfredo even gave us extra time for the tour. I would do this again but I would want a smaller group. 15 was too large when considering the traffic lights and varying skill levels of the participants.

Barcelona is a big city. There’s so much to see on all fronts - beach, old city, new city, Olympic/FC stadium. This tour covers many spots in the beach/old/new city from the beach front to Olympic sculptures to Cascada fountain to Arc De Triomf arch to City centre to Gothic quarter. We got a very good overview through this biking tour. Our tour guide was very friendly and explained all the attractions and city culture in detail. We walked to the beach the day after the tour on our own and could relate to all the information from the tour.

Thé tour was by far, the best activity I could have done in Barcelona! Alfredo was the best guide! It felt like spending a few hours with a friend, showing us around, and not with someone doing their job. The cycle was easy, the stops were ideal and they came with a history lesson ( Alfredo had this well put together folder with timelines of Barcelona, it was amazing). I 100% recommend it! Alfredo is such a credit to the company! Thank you, for the best understanding I could have had of Barcelona, on my first of hopefully many more visits to come. Jo

Perfect way to see the city and Donatella was very knowledgeable. The route was flat and not hard work and we were lucky with fine weather

Great tour with Fiorella. Used the Barcelona Pass - booked by email 24 hours before and luckily got on the tour. Small group of 4 of us with regular bikes. Helmets were available and included. The bike paths in Barcelona are excellent, although other drivers and pedestrians can be a bit oblivious so you have to stay alert! The tour lasted 3 hours covering the Gothic Quarter, Passeig De Gracia with the famous houses along there, Sagrada Familia, Arch de Triomphe and finished along the Barceloneta beach. Fiore gave great insights to the history of the city - we learned a lot in addition to vists we had already done. Definitely recommend the tour and thanks for the restaurant recommendations Fiore!
