Crypta Balbi

Originally a large courtyard annexed to the theatre which Lucio Cornelio Balbo built for Augustus at the end of the first century AD, the Crypta Balbi illustrates the development of Roman society and the urban landscape from antiquity to modern times.

Was really looking forward to this but the meeting point was not clearly designated on the vouchers and the one address we had was closed. We never found a meeting point so missed the entire experience. Very disappointing.

Museums flat out refused to honour Viator tickets to their venues. Had to purchase duplicate tickets from the venue itself.

This is a scam!!!! Do not purchase this activity!!! I ordered these tickets online, and the museum did not accept the voucher. There was no tour. I called the number on the voucher, and there was no response. I asked for a refund, and got a rude answer from the tour operator that the voucher never said it was a ticket. I hope Tripadvisor can help me get my money back.

The Amazing sculpture collection & helpful museum staff made this tour worthwhile. We were unhappy with viator on this though. Museums do not open until 11, but we were sold a tickets for 10AM. The instructions for getting our tickets were not good. The app kept putting us in a loop and we couldnt access the tickets. The museum staff had to call the tour company to straighten it out for us.

Museum tickets work fine if you can find them. Unfortunately the barcode from Viator under "view your tickets" does absolutely nothing and will not be accepted at any of the museums. Be sure to use the tickets sent to you by the tour company via email; those will work. Bad review because of very poor communication from Viator and tour company. Hope this helps someone else figure it out.

So it was just a little confusing because there was a time on the ticket, but the time was before the museum was open. The ticket didn't need to be timed, unlike all of my other adventures. The museum itself was an absolute joy to visit. I liked it better than the Vatican, but that's probably because it wasn't so overwhelming.

I never received the promised voucher in a form acceptable to the museums concerned. The local provider attempted to send a useable voucher, but this was not acceptable either. Far too much complication of logistics and unusable vouchers. But I am grateful for the refund that you have promised me.

Where do I begin? Voucher said 10:00, Museum didn’t open until 11:00. After waiting for an hour, we went inside and presented our tickets only to find out from the museum, that they do not accept ticket from this tour provider any longer! This tickets were purchased 3 weeks prior to our trip, and we were never notified about any changes.

No directions with the ticket ,,could never find the place….. will never use this again.. stay away"

Viator got the museum opening time wrong. Then the tickets they sent ($55 for two) weren’t accepted by the museum, so I had to buy tickets (24 Euros for two). I have asked for a refund and gotten no response.
