We took a Baskme private tour which was excellent. Andoni was extremely informative and knowledgeable, and looked after us very well.

We had never been to Basque contry....best part was our guide Iker Bardaji and the tour company that he works with Baskme, private tours....after Iker of course was the Amazing Guggenheim Museum....you have to see it to believe it....then there was the history of the Basque people, their language, culture, their food. Iker was totally flexible with his time and how long....we chose not to walk to the Game of Thrones Island....that would have taken way too long....had a great lunch in the small town there. Hake fish in a green sauce, delicious and of course local wine. Charles (Tom) Thompson and Prima Penalosa

Daniel is an excellent tour guide, He provided us with a memorable, day-long tour of the Basque region around San Sebastian. We especially appreciate the invaluable information that made our time at the Guggenheim Museum in Bilbao a highlight of our trip. He was very knowledgeable about the history of the Basque region. We highly recommend Daniel.

Andoni, our private tour guide, was very informative and efficient. Took us to the charming town of Bilbao..Guggenheim museum was a great work of art. We made a quick trip to Zumaia, a Game of thrones picturesque film location. Our guide even went out of his way to book us a delicious lunch at the famous, Kaia Kaipe and introduced us to a local drink called Txakola. He Excellently provided us with all the information we needed to know about our tour and much more. Eskerrik asko, Andoni!

Andoni was an amazing tour guide- knowledgeable, relaxed, and flexible to give us options when we wanted to grab coffee and a snack. It was a pleasure to go to this area with an experienced local who could tell us all the helpful, important stuff. I really enjoyed having lunch at the Game of Thrones rock area. And Andoni gave us restaurant recommendations in San Sebastian which were all spot-on. We ended up going to at least 2-3 of his recommended restaurants and really enjoyed each one.

Could not recommend this tour enough! The sights (including stops at Bilbao’s Guggenheim museum, San Juan Gaztelugatxe, Mundaka beach, and Guernica), are breathtaking. The highlight for our family, however, was being able to learn about the Basque culture and history from Mikel, our guide, who gamely answered all our questions and made us feel as though we were touring with a knowledgeable friend. If you get the opportunity to visit the region, definitely book your tours through BaskMe.

Ania was the best guide we could have hoped for. Her tour was thoughtfully planned and she was so knowledgeable, patient and fun! We learned so much about Basque culture and history, which made all of the sites so much more meaningful. There are too many highlights from which to choose, but the architecture of the Guggenheim lived up to the hype! We highly recommend this tour!

I booked Andoni’s time twice during my stay in San Sebastian - Spain. Both tours were private to our group (party of 2) we took a tour to the City of San Sebastian and Bilbao and the country side and coast. Andoni was passionate and knowledgable about the history and culture of the Basque country, attentive and friendly, personalized the tour to our interests and needs, and frankly it was the best time we had. Leave it to Andoni and you are guaranteed a wonderful time full of good memories.

Androni was a terrific guide. We had a fabulous tour and enjoyed the day immensely. We saw the Guggenheim Museum, toured Bilbao, went to Getaria, saw the Basilica of San Ignatius Loyola and the beautiful Basque coast. I would definitely tour with Androni again. He was knowledgeable, courteous, and very friendly.

My husband and I took 2 whole day tours with BaskMe owner Andoni; one from Bilbao and the other from San Sebastián. Touring with Andoni is like having a basque friend that immerses you in his culture. He is very friendly and flexible. You can tailor your private tours to your interests and needs. He is also very knowledgeable about his country’s history and culture. The views from Zumaia including the flysch and the San Telmo church (seen on “Spanish affair” movie) are breathtaking. A visit to Txacoli Elkano is a must for wine lovers. We did tours from Bilbao and San Sebastián and visited Dan Juan de Gaztelugatxe (seen on GOT) and multiple picture perfect beach towns Bermeo, Elantxobe, Getaria, Mundaka and Urdaibai. A visit to an Idiazabal cheese farm where we got to see the sheep being herd by the dog and the process of making cheese was another highlight. They also offer wine tours to Rioja alavesa, which is also a must visit location. We had a wonderful time and will tour will BaskMe me once again when we go back to Basque country.
