Boat tour to Pillirina, sea caves and Ortigia Island from Syracuse

The tour and especially the tour agency were absolutely top notch. We were impressed and aooreciative of the friendliness, attention, care and support that we received from Tolanda and her team at Sicily Travel. They reached out to us before the tour to inform us that the weather condition for our morning tour made it unsafe for us to see the sea caves. They provided options for us to cancel or take another tour. We were disappointed, so they suggested taking an afternoon tour when the winds were likely to subside. We agreed, but then what do we do for several hours???. Tolanda arranged tuk tuks for several of us to tour the city - which was a herculean feat since the cruise ships were at port - while she provided eating and shopping options for others. Dealing with a group of 10 is like herding cats - not easy at all - but they were flexible and helpful in meeting everyone's needs. It felt like we were with family. They were happy, smiling, joking and extremely flexible... and personally walked us to our boat. The boat ride itself was worth the wait. It was extremely relaxing and our driver was entertaining. I highly recommend the tour and especially since it is run by young small business owners and not some major corporate entity.

This “tour” is just a boat ride to see caves from the water. The skipper didn’t speak English though he was very pleasant. We did not enter any caves even though the ticket very clearly said “entry/admission included”. The meeting place was incorrect and we were redirected multiple times. If you want an expensive boat ride, this is the tour for you. If you want a tour, this is not!

Gorgeous scenery and crystal clear water we briefly swam in but the boat captain spoke zero English, didn't care that we wanted to go a little faster because half the people on the boat were getting nauseous from the waves (and other boats zooming by), there was one bottle of water and one bottle of 'spritz' mix for the 10 of us. Also, we were supposed to go to a mud beach, which we didn't.
