I was excited to see the inside of Buckingham Palace, especially since this opportunity isn't available all the time. We were so disappointed. We never got to see the front which is so elaborate and beautiful. We went in through a side or back door we at first seemed special. However, once inside we only got to see a few rooms with tables and pictures on the wall that looked like they were made for tourists and had probably never been seen or used by the royal family. They rushed us through and straight to the outside to the gift shops and eating areas. Not worth the money for 30 minutes of rooms made for tourists and obviously not used by the royal family. Windsor Castle on the other hand was FANTASTIC! Plenty of time to explore. Had a chance to see the whole castle and basilica. Got a true feeling as to what life was like back then with authenticity everywhere. We also had time to have lunch in the town (recommend the Ivy restaurant) and buy souvenirs. Windsor Castle was worth every penny. My suggestion to the tour company would be that they provide a tour of the front of Buckingham Palace before the inside, so you get a better overall experience.

We booked a coach tour to Windsor Castle then Buckingham Palace. Lisa gave a little history on the ride to Windsor then on the way back her history was more of disrespecting Queen Camilla and Princess Di for their education level than anything else. This was not a guided tour but an unorganized coach ride starting in an overcrowded coach terminal then a crowded seat on the bus. Although we had until 1pm which was later than most groups, we still did not have enough time to do the castle, chapel and the doll house because the lines were long as well as having to walk all the way back to the coach parking area and trying to grab a bite to each since we had to be at coach terminal at 7:30 am for a 7:45 am departure which didn't happen until 8am because Lisa waited for 3 late arrivals and then Lisa waited until after 1pm until 1:07 pm for late returners. I mention this because Lisa did not wait for me and my elderly friend who walks slowly at Buckingham Palace when our que time was 2:45. Because it was raining when we arrived at Buckingham Palace, Lisa wanted to get our tickets early and asked us to be back at the gift shop for 2:30 when we got off bus at 2:21 and Lisa said we could go across the street for coffee or into the gift shop. We chose to go across the street and did not get back to the gift shop until 2:38 and Lisa was not there so we walked to Gate B at 2:40 and after much back and forth with the employees found out that Lisa had already checked in the group and we were denied entry. I then called Premium Tours and got someone on the phone right away who called Lisa for her to just say we were late and she left out tickets at the gate. Technically, we were not late for our que time and she should have waited for us just like she waited two times before for the actual late arrivals and late returners. We were at Gate B before our que time and Lisa should have waited. Premium tours was on my cell phone and had to work it out with Buckingham Palace manager to allow us entry because Lisa can not leave "tickets" but only had a voucher that had to be amended for us to be given entry.

The trip gave entetry to Windsor and Buckingham. It is possible to get ticket to both these destination with out this tour but then you do not get the buss ride.

This was an excellent, well-organized tour including both Windsor and Buckingham Palaces. Our guide was Toby and we could not always hear his commentary. From the beginning he explained that he would speak to one end of the group and repeat his remarks to the other end of the group. However, we felt that that he and we would have benefitted from an audio/headset arrangement so that we could fully appreciate the history and significance of each site.

Always wanted to see the inside of Windsor and Buckingham. Both places did not disappoint. Gorgeous interiors with great history behind each one. Afternoon tea at Buckingham Palace cafe was one of the highlights.

Our guide was very knowledgeable keeping us informed about the important tidbits during our excursion.

Seeing the resting place for the queen. Touring Buckingham Palace for ourselves. The pace of the tour was very appropriate.

Although the guide was easy to understand it would have been nice to have the option of having him as a guide inside both places. Also should have been able to take the bus back to the starting point!

Stunning estates. Will never forget this experience! Definitely try to do Buckingham Palace if you’re there in the summer months.
