It was a windy day and we decided to try estuary fishing and it was a great choice. The bay itself it’s quite big and we caught some big fish. Would go again, when in cairns.

Daryl know his stuff - but don’t arrive after 7:00am. I was sure the brochure said check in at 7 - then 7:30am-12:00pm fishing trip. I arrived 7:10 and got the evil eye.

Had an absolute ball out with Daryl! We were told the fishing wasn’t great due to recent rain (over 100mm last month!) but we love being out on the water so went anyway. Enjoyed poking around creeks (Daryl did well hiding us from the wind) loved the banter and conversation, got a few decent bites as well. Would recommend it as a great half day out.

Worst ever experience. 1.5hrs looking for bait before being able to fish. Not allowed to hold the Fishing Rods and when the fish bite you are told we are not there to catch small fish, the rods are left in their rod sleeves. No baiting the hook or casting the lines in to fish. The other persons son was bored out of his brains, when holding a fishing rod would have made his day. Inappropriate conversations to the young 7year old about climbing/swinging off a boat pole to him that if only the women would dance on the pole instead, pole dancing. Told that my banana gumboots were unlucky for fishing yet we caught the most fish and instead of fishing like we paid to do the operator wants to know personal questions about us all our jobs, our lives etc and talk too much rather then make efforts to help catch fish… Operator should disclose that you can’t hold your own rod, bait or cast it in and can touch only when he says you can…so disappointing Out there sitting, little fishing happening at all.. Waste of money could have brought 200 plus dollars for fish from fresh fish shop instead of paying to sit and watch a rod we were not allowed to touch.

The worst charter we have ever been on. The skipper made no effort whatsoever in trying to find us a fish to catch. We literally went 5 minutes from the marina dropped anchor and sat there for 6 hours not catching anything. They was 8 people on his tiny little boat so you couldn’t all fish anyway. It was very disappointing and would never recommend this guy to anyone.

Darryl gave a great running commentary with a wicked sense of humor.Great trip able to go to sheltered parts of estuary when winds were high towards the reef and other boats couldn't go out. Thanks Darryl

Darryl was a great captain who was easy to deal with and provided a relaxed environment to fish. Very knowledgeable and took us to spots where we caught fish/sharks as well as sighted other marine wildlife.

Sophia_c

Highly disappointed as we caught apparently ( the most embarrassing fish to catch according to Daryl) both throw backs but we had a great afternoon out on the water … what we missed on in catching Daryl made up in chatting, jokes and a job offer for our son in law from another customer!

We had a great morning out on the water. The skipper was fantastic and so welcoming It was like jumping on the boat with an old mate We will definitely be back
