Just such a lovely experience walking with Ricardo and Shy. The hike was challenging enough but not horrendous. Luckily we did the hardest section when it was a bit cooler in the early part of the day. Ricardo was such a lovely person, made sure everyone was included and gave people his insider knowledge not just on the trip but for Porto too. The picnic was absolutely amazing. Homemade goodies, fresh fruit and produce very, very good. We would 100% recommend but just remember plenty of water and remember it is a hike.

This really was a lovely hike with Ricardo and his dog and a great way to get out of the busy streets of Porto!
The views are lovely and a great variety along the way! For adults, I would highly recommend this hike!
We did this hike with our two children (5 & 9) and it was much longer than we were expecting. The distance was not listed on the description (unless I missed it???), so likely our own error, but we assumed a casual hike through some trails and a village. I believe it was close to 10km total at a pretty steady pace which is a lot for little legs. Although we made it, it was difficult to keep up at the end, even with a carrier for our youngest. When the heat of the afternoon set in and it was more of a scramble to keep up to the group since we were hiking with all adults. Ricardo was lovely and ended up helping with a shoulder ride for our youngest which was much appreciated!
Our kids loved this Hike and so did we, just a little more description in the Hike write up would help to know what to better expect especially for families. I went by the ages 5+ in the listing.

We really enjoyed our hike with Ricardo and Xai! Bring water and be honest about your level of hiking because Ricardo will properly customize your hike. My boyfriend hikes anything no problem but I am more casual. Our route had a little bit of everything for both of us including a good sweat and dirty shoes :) I was also impressed by the homemade hummus - first time I wanted to eat hummus by the spoon. This summer Porto has A LOT of construction blocking all the iconic structures so I had extra appreciation for the views and fresh air outside the city.

Hiking with Ricardo and Shy(dog) was a breath of fresh air. It was so nice to get out of the city (Porto) and hear sounds of nature. The river hike had many points of interest. Personally- I loved the community garden with walls made of shale nestled along the river. You do not have to be in optimal shape. Ricardo will adjust the trail accordingly. Ricardo also enjoys cooking so our picnic lunch was made up of many fresh items he thoughtfully presented. This is an experience you will remember.

This was my second time hiking with Ricardo and Xai. It was very fun, Ricardo was cognizant of the pace of the group and when breaks were needed. The picnic was really good as well! Great way to get away from the city.
