Dino was an excellent guide. Very knowledgeable, he made me feel at ease despite initial nerves before and during the hike and I really appreciated his help and encouragement. The hike was very rewarding and I would recommend it to anyone and especially to walk with a local like Dino. Thank you for the experience Dino. I won’t forget it :)

Dino was absolutely great. Communication was very easy. He picked us up outside the cruise terminal and was very friendly and communicative. My wife and I were interested in some serious hiking. Apparently most tours take people almost to the top of the mountains and start from there and then walk down. we started at the bottom and hiked through the tunnel and then gradually up the mountains. This was exactly what we were looking for as we wanted to see the sites and get some exercise. We did a little over 7 miles and almost 700 “steps”. we learned a lot about the island and the construction of the Levadas. We had a great lunch at a café. Saw some beautiful scenery and waterfalls. Dino is in incredible shape and has run four 100 mile races! He leads running tours as well. So for him, this was a walk in the park. we’re both in our 70s so it was a bit more strenuous for us but certainly doable and enjoyable. He couldn’t have been more helpful. I would strongly recommend him.

Dino is a fantastic guide. He is very informative and he pointed out rare plants and birds that I found interesting. The Ponta de Sao Laurenco is a great hike when you are levada'd out. Book Dino, you will be very pleased

This was one of my favorite days in Madeira! Our guide, Dino picked us up at our hotel and we went immediately to the starting point for our walk to the 25 Fonts. Dino was very knowledgeable and personable. He brought flashlights for the tunnel, which I wouldn't have thought of. It was a beautiful hike and mostly level to the first waterfall. There were a few long sets of steps going to the second waterfall, but I went slow and took a break or two. Dino followed our lead and stopped whenever we needed to. It was great fun! Start out pretty early, because it does get busy. I was a little worried that I wouldn't be able to make it all the way to the second waterfall, but I did. We are both middle 60's with no issues, but we were both tired at the end. If you have any mobility or knee issues, I'm not sure this would be a good hike.

I booked the Fanal forest and Levada dos Cedros tour with Dino, but because the weather was so great he suggested focussing on the Final forest -- and I am so glad we did! It was absolutely breathtaking to first walk through open fields with brilliant sunshine and then through the mist surrounded by the magical laurel trees and peaceful cows. Dino is super friendly, super professional and extremely knowledgeable about the island and its history. Highly recommend this tour!

Had a wonderful time walking with Dino up to the Fanal forest and then back down following the path of a Levada. Dino was very knowledgeable about the flora and fauna in the area and took time to talk with all of the people in the small group. I would highly recommend this walk and Dino as a guide

Dino is so knowledgeable of Levada do Rei. It makes an amazing hike even more enjoyable. The majority of the hike is a slight grade with narrow sections. I can’t recommend this enough, it was a true hi light of the trip.

Second time in Madeira. Second time that we have booked Dino. As usual - both of them are divine. He is only working with small groups, or you can have him for yourself if you pay an extra fee (recommended) We went as a private group and walked up to Fanal and back along the Levada do Cedros and it was truly a remarkable journey. Dino is well educated and very friendly (without being too much). He is always taking very good care of us, asking if we need a small break when we look a bit tired. We SO recommend him! GO! GO! GO! (He also have running groups, if you are a big fan of trail running)

The hiking and scenery in Madeira is spectacular. Dino shared some wonderful locations. He has so much depth of knowledge and interest in his home of Madeira and it is obvious that he brings it all to being a great guide. He showed excellent driving skills, as each hike we took was about 45 mins from Funchal. Most importantly, Dino wants to be sure that those he is hosting are having a wonderful experience.
