The modern staging is disastrous. In wanting to modernize classics, we lose the soul. A Carmen in shorts and Santiago who works in an arms factory and who does a duet with Don José lying on a gas pump! No passion, no glamour, gray-colored decor and costumes. Too bad because the vocal performance of Carmen, Don José and particularly Micaela are extraordinary. Really very disappointed.
