The tour begins with a visit to the museum dedicated to the Allied Landing in Sicily, an in-depth and detailed introduction on Operation Husky and in particular on Operation Fustian, the battle of Simeto. An accurate historical reconstruction and a rich documentation make this museum one of the most interesting in Catania.

Monument symbol of Roman Catania, the amphitheater was used during the Second World War as an air raid shelter. In the same square you can still see the remains of the church of Sant'Euplio bombed on April 16, 1943, which has become the symbol and memorial of all the victims of war and persecution.

Piazza del Duomo

Our guide was knowledgeable and informative about the WWII-Catania history. He guided us through the museum and then we were able to enter locations in the city not accessible to the public. It was a rich experience, full of history.
