Interesting tour to see the gorge and learn a bit about the area, the river, the city. Nice thing to do as alternative to walking the gorge.

I loved this cruise. Our guide, Callum was super knowledgeable about the local area and had lots of great stories to share. Going into Cataract Gorge was beautiful. This is a great value and super relaxing tour that is a must do when you’re in Launceston. I do it every time that I visit :).

The information provided by Viator was not correct. I waited at the meeting place, Tiger bus stop for 1/2 hour prior to the commencement time. No one arrived with my ticket and I almost missed the tour but I could see other people boarding the boat, so I ran to the office and said I had been waiting for my ticket at the Tiger bus stop but no one had arrived. The young lady gave me my ticket ( it was held at the tour office) and I was able to go on the tour. Viator also advised that there were toilets on the boat. This was wrong also. There were no toilets.

Beautiful view of the Launceston area but unfortunately our tour guide didn't have much to say & we didn't learn anything about the Cataract Gorge. He was too busy chatting with some other guest on board & there was no goodbye or thankyou as he was still chatting to the same guests. We come on these type of river cruises to learn a bit about the area we are visiting & we learnt nothing on this one so very disappointing. Also heard some other guests saying the same thing as we came off.

Highly recommend this cruise. Our captain was not only informative but also lots of fun. His commentary was interesting and interactive and we both learnt lots about Launceston and the Cataract Gorge. The boat is super cute and cosy and the cruise was relaxed and chilled.
