Your Itinerary

Cathedrale Notre-Dame de Reims

Notre-Dame de Reims Cathedral is a Roman Catholic cathedral located in Reims, in the French department of Marne in the Grand Est region. It is known to have been, from the 11th century, the place of almost all the coronations of the kings of France. It is one of the major achievements of Gothic art in France, both for its architecture and for its statuary which includes 2,303 statues. As such, it has been listed as a UNESCO world heritage site since 1991. It is the seat of the archdiocese of Reims and therefore the metropolitan cathedral of the ecclesiastical province of Reims. Open every day from 7:30 a.m. to 7:30 p.m.

Basilique Saint-Remi

In Romanesque-Gothic style, it is one of the most remarkable achievements of Romanesque art in the North of France. 126 m long, it impresses with its depth and the feeling of intimacy it provides. Built in the 11th century, it houses the holy bulb as well as the relics of Saint-Remi, the bishop who baptized Clovis in 498. His tomb (1847) occupies the center of the choir. The sober Romanesque nave and the four-story Gothic choir (end of the 12th century) constitute an impressive ensemble of lightness and harmony. The facade was built at the same time as the choir. Open Monday to Saturday from 8:00 a.m. to 5:00 p.m. and Sunday from 1:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m.

Abbaye Saint-Pierre d'Hautvillers

The abbey is the property of the Champagne house Moët & Chandon, of the LVMH group. In 2012, the abbey's cloister was restored and the Saint-Hélène gate, which had disappeared, was reconstructed identically by Moët & Chandon in association with the architects of the buildings of France. The Hautvillers Abbey site is today used by the champagne house to welcome its most important guests. The Saint-Sindulphe church of this abbey houses the tombs of Dom Pérignon and Dom Royer Open every day from 9:00 a.m. to 4:00 p.m.

Moet et Chandon

Moët & Chandon is a Champagne house founded in 1743 and owned today by the luxury group LVMH, avenue de Champagne in Épernay. It is the leading merchant handling Champagne with 1190 hectares of vineyard owned by its own and purchases of grapes on nearly 3000 hectares, with 12.5 million bottles sold in 1971 and 22.8 million in 2011. The three brands are grouped together within the company MHCS.
