Positives: The castles were beautiful and the views of the countryside were equally nice. We were lucky to have great weather. The bus was air-conditioned and comfortable. I think that being self-guided was the right choice for travelers like us, who prefer to take our time with areas that are more interesting to us. Negatives: Three chateaus was really a lot —probably too much—for one day. People were late to the bus both times and waiting for them cost us 25 minutes…for such a tight tour, this was a big loss. Just for context, we had about an hour and fifteen minutes at each chateau. At the last chateau, the line was so long to get in the house that we thought we would spend most of the hour in line, so we opted to spend time on the grounds instead. They decided to add 15 minutes on to make up for the time we lost waiting on late people—but because we were self guided and not part of the tour group, we were not informed of this, and arrived to the bus 20 minutes early. The second chateau also had very odd instruction. They said we all needed to go into the chateau together, but we ended up 50 people in a very tight space at the entrance. We ended up following one of the tour groups out of confusion before realizing we were probably supposed to make our own way after entering. I have a feeling some instruction may have been given to the people with headsets, but since we weren’t them, it wasn’t available. I didn’t expect guidance since we didn’t pay for it, but since they had given us instructions to follow, I would hope they’d follow up on them. In conclusion, I think it was a good way to see the chateaus, but certainly some bumps along the way.

Excellent way to get out of the city and into the countryside. We visited 3 chateaus, of course chambord was the most beautiful and indulgent. It also allowed for the most wandering. The bus ride was easy. was able to sleep on the coach with no issue. We went into a village by one of the chateaus to have lunch... this was my wifes favorite thing we did in france. We didn't opt for the audio tour thing, we just did it all on our own. The guide knew her stuff and the driver was very professional.

Our tour guide was knowledgeable and made the day enjoyable. She easily handled our tour in English and Spanish. We learned a lot from her during the bus ride even though we chose the self guided option while at the chateaus. If I only had time for one castle, I would choose Chateau de Chenonceau because of the decor.

It was Amazing trip !!! Tour guide very nice and helpful !!! All was good !!! We saw 3 castle in one day !!! Lovely experience !!!

We just did it on our own. Got the ear pieces. The female tour guide on the bus was just too cheap to share her commentaries on the bus. She just whispered on those who got the guided tour. Too bad, we are 9 BIG TIPPERS.. Huge mistake. HUGE!

I misread the voucher due to differences in how European dates are printed versus American, so I thought our tour was 10/ 23. The guide for another tour told us we missed yesterday's tour but we might be able to get a refund. When the reminder message was sent Saturday I was on the Eiffel tower so I could not read it, and forgot about it later. Very sad.

The venues were good as expected. The bus driver was to be putting it nicely was scary! Texting while driving, no seatbelt, flashing lights at other drivers, not professional at all. We were disappointed that we didn’t have a guide that we thought we paid for, the description was misleading “multi lingual” guide was only to let us know when to get off the bus and when to be back. Suggestion would be to have extra audio guides available for purchase on the bus. That would help make the tour more enjoyable.

My husband was impressed by the architecture of all the castles, Chambord being his favorite. Being on the grounds in person is more impactful than seeing it in pictures or documentaries.

Great trip even though last minute and the tour guides were great to accommodate our English speaking people.

We enjoyed the organisation of the trip and it kept to time well. The bus driver was very good and gave us a smooth trip. The only disappointment was the lack of information from the lead guide with the microphone on the bus about the chateaus. This was particularly upsetting with Cheverny as there were no signs displayed around the rooms inside or any leaflets handed out as we went in. At least the other 2 chateaus had these as is the usual practice. At Cheverny we had no idea at all as to even basic knowledge apart from the fact it was privately owned and well- furnished!! We even had to discover which family owned it ourselves afterwards by googling! I appreciate that we had opted for self-guided tours at the chateaus but as there was a guide on the bus, we expected some commentary apart from the timing arrangements and general chit-chat. The other guide, Victor, did give us some pointers as he led us into the chateaus which were very helpful. So, an efficient way to visit the beautiful chateaus, but I would recommend some reading up before you go or taking one of the guided options!!
