Absolutely brilliant way of touring the city of Chester. As first timers of doing the Mystery guides we really enjoyed it and will definitely be doing other cities in the future.

My sisters and I did it together, one of my sisters is in a wheelchair but we still managed to do it all. There was only one bit that she couldn't do. We had a lot of fun doing it and we are all in our sixties. We are hopefully booking to go somewhere else to do another one. Thank you for the mystery books we got to see more of Chester than we have seen in the past by doing it.

Brilliant way to see more of this beautiful city, we had an AWESOME time… friends were visiting fir the weekend & I’d purchased this as a gift for my hubby & asked friends if they’d like to have a go with us- they’d never been to Chester before- we had a blast. Can be done with dogs as well as all outside however Ye Old Boot Inn pub won’t allow them in. Absolutely recommend. We will be doing this again- Liverpool likely our next candidate!

We have just completed the Mystery Guides challenge in Chester. What a truly inspired idea these guides are! Following an interesting route round the city you solve s series of cryptic (but not too obscure) clues in order to solve a mystery explained at the beginning of the volume. The route is easy to follow and the clues are fun to solve. I would say they may be a little beyond most under-10s but for all other age groups (including ours: 60+} they are just about spot-on. The only slight problem we had was that the pages of the guidebook, which contains the route, clues and answer spaces, do not survive rain very well. It might be worth the publisher's while investigating slightly more rain-resistant paper. This however is a minor complaint in what otherwise represents a great addition to the sightseeing process.
