We had a great time with Joseph on our culinary walking tour! He was friendly, knowledgeable, and happy to answer our questions. We learned a lot about the history and culture of Chinatown and San Francisco in general. The food stops were delicious and provided a filling lunch!

When you first arrive to the city you don’t know how important the Gold Rush and all the immigrants that came with it made the city a fast growing center of culture and diversity. When you do the tour, you get to know how all started and how our asian american fellows impacted in the growth of the city. The Chinatown in SF was the first one to be created in America and is huge compared to NY, around 20 blocks! The factory was amazing, you get to see the inside of how they make the cookies and how they create that amazing experience you get once you read what awaits for you in the future. If you want to know the impact our immigrants had, do not hesitate to take this tour that is only two hours long. This is not my first tour with the company and they never disappoint, the experience is entertaining and fun!

We had a great tour with our tour guide. Hr gave us many great insights to the Chinatown area and also the immigration of that area as well. I would highly recommend the tour and working with our tour guide. Thanks for all your knowledge and depth of the area. Dan and Pauline.

Our tour guide was so great! He's a native of San Francisco and truly gave us more than what we expected. We felt more connected in the city where we work.

We had booked with a different company originally who cancelled for unknown reasons. I know Grayline delivers a good experience so I chose this tour. We walked from our hotel to the gate to Chinatown. Our guide was there early and ready to go. Much to our surprise we were the only two people signed up that day yet they did the tour anyway, Very impressed by that as we only had that day free and couldn’t reschedule. Our guide (his name escapes me and I’m so sad bi can’t give him kudos) was fabulous. We walked throughout Chinatown and hit all the sights we could hope for. He was knowledgeable not only about Chinatown but about the history of San Francisco so we received information on both. The dim sum was fabulous. First stop was a sit down restaurant where we enjoyed the most amazing soup dumplings and pork buns plus some tea. Really delicious. After more walks and information in. Gina town the second stop was a smaller storefront with pictures and the signs in Chinese. Our guide gave us excellent suggestions and we ordered a couple items as takeout and walked to a nearby shelter to enjoy them. The food was so fresh and delicious! Another stop was the fortune cookie factory. The word factory suggested something larger to me but it was charming and fun to watch the cookies being made. I’m really not a fortune cookie fan but I think that is because I had not had these before. They were light and crisp and I enjoyed the different flavors. I did not try the chocolate covered versions but they sure looked good. I highly recommend this tour. From all of the sights around Chinatown including history of the area, explanation of the symbolism used in the gate and other construction, delicious food, close up view of the bricks repurposed after the 1906 earthquake and fire, and so much more information, it far exceeded our expectations and was a very enjoyable couple hours.

We had a wonderful tour on May 5. Our guide was very knowledgeable about not only Chinatown buy San Francisco in general. We covered key sights in Chinatown and stopped two places for delicious dim sum as well as for.fortune cookies. It was just the right length and we had a wonderful time. Highly recommend this experience.

Joseph did the best he could but the people of San Francisco were just horrible. I didn't enjoy anything at all and every second was just miserable. I will never return to that area for any reason. Goodbye and good riddance San Francisco!!!

Our guide Joseph was very knowledgeable about the area and took us to get great dim sum and to the fortune cookie factory. If you’re visiting San Francisco, I highly recommend this tour to get to know Chinatown.
