The tour was amazing, informative, and gave us a greater respect for chocolate than already did… hard to do! Jamie was amazing and brought a personal comfort to the end of tour along with knowledge of the company and its culture. Such an awesome experience! The owner of the chocolate factory does the tours and gives you tons of information on the process and the history behind how it started! You get to taste chocolate along the way and then at the end you get with a chocolate tasting which you can pair with wine on their beautiful balcony with a great view! I recommend the lemon grass chocolate and Maui Mango dark chocolate ! 10/10 recommend.

We had an AMAZING afternoon at the Ku’ia Estate learning from the CEO himself, Gunars Valkirs. This man has so much passion for chocolate and making it the best you have ever tasted. Do the “Chocolate Experience Tour” and enjoy every minute of the fascinating education to your relaxing tasting on the rooftop patio. We also ordered a milkshake, shipped chocolate to family & friends and loved supporting a local company. Please add this to your list of adventures while in Maui. You won’t regret it!!!

If you really want to explore the process of making high quality chocolate as well as understand the journey from plant to taste - this is the tour for you. I did the tour with my daughter at the tail end of our trip. Our connecting flight back home cancelled and we changed flights to a late departure to allow us to visit and take the factory tour and tasting. The owner provided an incredibly informative tour and the tasting at the end was amazing. This is not a high volume stuff yourself with poor quality chocolate experience. Rather it is a way to appreciate the differences between milk and dark chocolate, varied amounts of cacao, and the blending with natural flavors to create some truly exceptional tastes. That the mission is to donate net profits to local charity makes this also an easy individual business to support. WILL COME BACK!!!

Something we haven’t experienced in Maui before. It was an interesting history of growing Cacao beans and making chocolate. We did a tasting of 9 different varieties made right there. You could also do pairings with wine or spirits.

This was by far our favorite experience on Maui! We just wished we had done the farm tour as well. We will definitely do that next time. I will recommend this to anyone going to Maui. We loved the educational aspect and the divine chocolate samples we got to try. Can't say enough good things about this experience. Will remember it for years to come! We are now Ku'ia chocolate lovers and won't buy anything else.

We had a fun time with this. It was the last stop on our visit to Maui - us and our 4 teens. We did the tasting only, not the tour. The owner gave a talk and played a short video. He told about the history of the farm, how cacao is grown and harvested, and how chocolate is made from it. He made it interesting and chill. The chocolates themselves were unlike anything we've tasted before, in a good way. They had some very interesting flavors and he told a good story behind each of them. There is an option to purchase wine & spirits during the tasting, and some people did that (we did not). It's also nice that that owner gives away the proceeds from many of the tastings to charity. Overall, a fun and relaxing (and tasty!) thing to do on our last day on Maui.

Wow, this was the unexpected tour of our trip. When my wife first booked, I thought "okay, this isnt on the 'fun' list, but sure lets go", but we were pleasantly surprised. Our guide Lucas was great, knowledgeable and passionate about the company. The tour itself was really cool, you first arrive at the factory, you can watch as some of the workers form chocolate in the clean room, then you take about a 10 minute ride to the farm. We learned so much about how the chocolate making process is done, and ended the tour up in this open tree house/patio that over looks Lahaina and the ocean, and we were treated to a tasting of multiple types of chocolates...its like wine tasting. Their chocolate is AMAZING, I think we bought like $200 worth to bring home. Im still kicking myself for not getting the Mokka milkshake after. I highly recommend this, its off the beaten path, and you'll never look at Hersey's the same way.
