Continuing our annual tradition, we had another awesome day at the Bickley Harvest Festival of 2024. Paul from Up Close and Local Tours drove us with his customary excellence for sumptuous wine tastings at Plume, Fairbrossen, Myattsfield, a great lunch at Mason Mill, and more yummy tastings from Brookside at the Chalet Rigi. We also sampled some tasty French bread and Pate at Plume. Then we finished our day with guitar, singing and drinking back home. It’s so awesome to enjoy fun times with such good friends and as always to feel so grateful for the amazing area we live in here in the Perth Hills. Special thanks to all who made the event happen and for the hard work of all these producers who do such a fantastic job. Our annual harvest festival did not disappoint. Paul is always the perfect host. So many awesome wineries and lunch at Mason Mill was exceptional.

Excellent private local tour of 3 wineries and a cider making site in the lovelyBuckley Valley area with very knowledgeable guide who knows the local scene well. Lovely cheese platter lunch on terrace. If you have a Friday free you should do this!

Do yourself a favour and book a tour with Up Close and Local tours, Paul picked us up from the departure point on time and proceeded on our tour. Paul was extremely knowledgeable on the area and the wineries. The wineries and the Cider place we visited were a very good choice. The winery owners explained about their wines and the history of their cellar door, we learnt quite a lot about the wines from the Bickley Valley. We had an amazing afternoon out. This was a Christmas gift from our sons, it was a great tour, Paul was fantastic and an excellent tour guide. Every venue was interesting and the sampling was more than you could wish for. Catering at lunch was able to fill dietry requirements where needed. Although we are not whiskey drinkers the final stop at the Whipper Snapper Distillery was very interesting and I learnt a lot. My wife has had two knee replacements and handled the day very well . The tour group is very small around 10 -12 people which makes it a friendly day. I would highly recommend this tour for those looking for something different and fun. I took lots of photos ,however they are all on my phone.

Loved every minute of this tour. Great people, knowledgeable guides and many great memories. It was somewhat annoying to sit at the back of the bus where the company’s promotional sticker degraded the view. Like looking through a shower curtain. Apart from that, this tour comes highly recommended.

Shannon was a fantastic tour guide - very well informed about the region , the wine , cider and local produce , as well as being very easy to talk to and had a great sense of humour . The van we were transported in was ultra modern and felt luxurious . As this was a small group tour it felt like a private tour and the itinerary that had been chosen was amazing - no big tour busses ! Shannon appeared to have a close professional relationship with the staff at each venue , which added value to our tour. I highly recommend a tour with Shannon and we will definitely repeat the experience on one of their other tours .
