Cinque Terre

The Cinque Terre is a string of centuries-old seaside villages on the rugged Italian Riviera coastline. In each of the 5 villages, colorful houses and ancient vineyards cling to steep terraces, fishing boats bob in harbors and trattorias turn out seafood specialties complimented perfectly by the Liguria region’s famous sauce, PESTO. The five towns, Monterosso al Mare, Vernazza, Corniglia, Manarola, Riomaggiore, and their surrounding coastline and hillsides form one of the world's most exquisite UNESCO World Heritage Sites. Renowned for its incredible beauty & picturesque coastline, the Cinque Terre (5 lands) with its rich maritime-history, is a must-see from the perspective of the sea. We’ll spend 3 hours on the boat, cruising along the coast, while sipping prosecco and enjoying some local snacks. We’ll stop a few times to swim in the crystal-clear waters of the Mediterranean and then head to Vernazza for lunch in one of the areas best family-run restaurants!

Monterosso al Mare

(Pass by)

We'll depart from and return to Monterosso. Monterosso is the northernmost and largest of the five coastal Cinque Terre villages. The village is located on hills cultivated with lemons, vines and olives. Its amazing beaches, its beautiful reefs and the sea’s crystal-clear waters make this small village one of the most popular of the Italian Riviera. Monterosso is divided in two parts – the old town, or “centro storico,” and the new town, Fegina - marked by the medieval tower of Aurora. The old town of Monterosso is dominated by the ruins of the castle and characterized by typical narrow medieval streets, carruggi, with multi-coloured terraced houses, shops and restaurants.

Vernazza

Get ready to take some amazing selfies with Vernazza as the backdrop! You'll see Vernazza first from the boat as we head south along the coast, and then later, when the boat portion of your tour ends, we'll stop in Vernazza for lunch. The lunch tour ends here in Vernazza, after lunch, allowing you to explore this quaint little town on your own. The crown jewel of the five villages, Vernazza is probably the most recognizable and iconic of the Cinque Terre and consistently ranks as one of the most beautiful villages in Italy. Vernazza is the only natural harbor in Cinque Terre, a characteristic that makes it unique. Lined with little cafes, there is only one main cobbled street that leads to and from the main piazza. Side streets lead to the village's trademark Genoa-style caruggi (narrow streets), where views of the sea pop up at every turn and there are breathtaking views around every corner.

Corniglia

(Pass by)

The quietest of the five villages, Corniglia is the least known and the least visited of the five towns in Cinque Terre. The only village without direct access to the sea, Corniglia is perched on top of a high cliff, overlooking the water and offering breathtaking views of the sea and the Cinque Terre coast. The village is surrounded on three sides by vineyards and stone terraces.

Manarola

(Pass by)

Manarola, built on a high cliff 70 metres above sea level, is the second-smallest of the five Cinque Terre towns. Along with Vernazza, it is one of the most photographed of the five towns. Along the main road boats are pulled onto dry land every time the sea is rough. The village is all ups and downs, with steep narrow alleyways, called carrugi, leading out to the sea. You can only truly appreciate the beauty of this town from the sea - with its typical, pastel-colored houses, seaside vineyards and its very own natural pool. Absolutely breathtaking! Get ready to take some amazing pictures!!

Riomaggiore

(Pass by)

Riomaggiore is the southernmost village of the Cinque Terre, known for its colorful stone houses that seem to be stacked on top of one another and its harbor filled with traditional fishing boats. It sits in a valley between two steep hills and was named for the river, Rivus Major, that flows beneath it and out to the sea. Riomaggiore, along with Monterosso al Mare, is one of the larger and livelier of the villages - more alleyways (“caruggi”) to discover, better people watching, and a greater choice of restaurants, cafés, and shops. It also offers the best spot to capture the sunset in the Cinque Terre. As the sun starts to set, many people gather to sit on the rocks by the harbor.
