Check-in is 45 minutes prior to tour time. This allows for guest weight check-in, a safety briefing, and to be escorted and seated on the aircraft to ensure an on-time departure. You will receive confirmation of tour time after booking. Late arrivals will not be accepted and non-refundable. It is the guest responsibility to allow ample travel time to our bases in case of traffic delays.
For each guest weighing over 240 pounds (108 kg), an adjacent empty seat is required to safely balance the aircraft. The second seat charge is half off of the regular tour price. Please arrange your additional seat after booking.

Great knowledge of Volcanoes and the Big Island. Incredible views and a smooth relaxing ride. Amazing experience.

Let's start: I have 10+ helicopter rides behind me, and this one was the worst. The entire family got the worst seats in the back. At the same time, they put a Brazilian couple in front without any upgrade, even though I requested a front seat for the kids, especially for my son, who is in active chemo treatment and is not able to ride in the back without feeling sick. He was highly nauseous the entire flight, and I was not able to take a single good photo because of the middle seat in the back. I didn't see a thing. The guy in front was farting all the time. The pilot was friendly, but the flight was a huge disappointment and a waste of money. I do not recommend it.

Our guide Ethan was awesome. The staff was as well. The flight was a first for me and my teen. We both enjoyed the flight immensely. There were no active lava flows but we did fly over a crater and the various older flows, including 2022. We were given the opportunity to buy the recorded flight video and did so. A warning that Blue Hawaiian repeatedly communicates. Please make sure you are at the right airport. We got a private experience because the other family went to the wrong place. Blue Hawaiian has several adventures and depart at different locations. They do not refund your money if you are late.

Great experience! We took the Circle of Fire tour, and my entire family loved it. None of us had been on a helicopter before, but it felt very safe. with Mike as our pilot. We had been to the Volcanoes National Park before, but it is hard to get a feel for the scope of the place from the ground. Seeing it from the air was amazing.

We were very excited about the much famed helicopter tour and after a lot of research chose Blue Hawaiian for the Circle of Fire tour. The booking process, follow ups etc were very responsive and a good experience. Our pilot also was very cheerful and his playlist for music during the tour was fantastic. The views were very nice although there were no eruptions and we could only see smoke. However the main issue with this was the helicopter capacity. It is a 7-seater including the pilot and 2 infront who get fantastic views. Then in the rear seat, you have 4 seats with 2 at the window who also get decent views. But for the 2 individuals who sit in the middle, it is a rather boring experience as they really cannot see much other than the cramped heads and bodies of their co-passengers. It does feel like a very expensive ride to sit in the middle. Either the agency should do away with middle seats (and make it a 5 seater) which is the only way to enjoy the tour; or state very very clearly that you may sit in the middle seat and somehow almost disincentivise that. I found paying that kind of money and sitting in the middle was very boring and I actually fell asleep during the tour - probably the most expensive snooze per minute I have had.
