What a great tour! Ben was so entertaining and knowledgeable. It was the spookiest ghost tour I’ve been on and I’d highly recommend it to history buffs and ghost tour fans alike!

Went on the double ghost tour hosted by the wonderful Artemus Deadman. Full of information and delivered in a way that kept everyone interested, he really made the whole experience and it was nice to be in the company of someone who really enjoys their job. The tour itself was incredible, seeing a side of Edinburgh you would have no idea is hidden away, and the storytelling made it even spookier. We had a moment of panic when a drain started to crackle midway through telling us about the mortuary, so I’d say we got our moneys worth haha. Great pacing, never thought like we were being moved too fast along. Loved going to the graveyard and hearing more about the more tragic side of Edinburghs history, and being able to actually stand in these areas made it a lot more sombre. We said if we ever came back we would probably do the tour again, it was a great way to end our trip up here and will recommend to others 100%. Thanks again to Artemus for being a great guide!

Very interesting tour, started in the underground City of Edinburgh. Walk through the vaults with Ben our tour guide, who gave us a detailed explanation of the underground vaults, where the poor lived and died, where the spirits of the dead still roam and cry in anguish. Feel the cold and musty air of the vaults where lights go out and wisps of air seem to flow past and touch your fingertips. Move onto Greyfriars Kirk and Graveyard where Ben gave us the history about "Bloody George Mackenzie" who persecuted and was responsible for the abominable treatment of the Presbyterian Covenanters. Enter the gate of the Covenanters prison yard after dark to feel the eeriness of walking the graveyard of tormented souls. Shout out to Ben our navigator of the dead for a very interesting side of Edinburgh.

It was way more fun and informative than I expected. Ryan, our guide really brought the stories to life and seemed to genuinely care about the history and the sites. I went with a Sam all group of strangers and it was amazing!

Wow! This was an experience of a lifetime! This is an Edinburgh must-do.. more so than the castle! The history and the associated stories were incredible but our tour guide Ryan really brought it to a whole new level! Seriously, someone from Broadway should recruit Ryan! We did the Double Dead Tour and it was hands down the best 2 hours of our entire vacation this far! At first, it may seem a little morbid to do a tour like this. But, the reality is that Scotland was a rough and brutal place to live hundreds of years ago and the underground was one of the most miserable places to live. Bad stuff happened and the underground was sealed off for what was supposed to be forever and forgotten about. This tour unseals the history of those people who suffered with exciting ghost stories to accompany. The underground of Edinburgh is a first hand archeological encounter with a fascinating history of the city. After the underground experience, we made our way to a historically significant graveyard that has been preserved beautifully with the assistance of the tour company's donations and minimizing foot traffic through the area. Again, we got to hear some fascinating accounts of Scotland's and Edinburgh's dark history. Finally...Ryan! I can't speak for the other guides but Ryan is the most enthusiastic guide we've ever had! He kept his audience engaged in the experience instead of just regurgitating a script. He really brought the City of the Dead experience to life... pun intended. Seeing the historic spaces in Edinburgh was amazing on its own but we felt that Ryan was the true cornerstone to making the entire night fun, educational, and memorable!

Excellent tour. Alistair told great ghost stories and the locations were VERY creepy. Highlight was the kirkyard. Highly recommended.

Went on this tour while on my honeymoon in Edinburgh. I’m a big baby about scary things, but I wanted to hear more about the “spooky” history of the city and this particular tour was the most recommended on Reddit. It didn’t disappoint! Ryan was our tour guide and was absolutely amazing — he was a great storyteller, very funny, and knowledgeable. He played up the scares but I didn’t feel so scared that I wanted to leave. Highly recommend if you like this sort of thing!

We had an amazing time on this tour. We love taking ghost tours when traveling and this is one of the best we’ve ever been on. A great mix of creepy stories and local history. Ryan was an excellent tour guide

We booked this tour based on the fab TripAdvisor reviews and the testaments from those who appear to have experienced The McKenzie Poltergeist! Our tour guide Ben was friendly, funny and very knowledgeable and gave the whole group a super spooky evening in the South Bridge Vaults and over to the Covenanter's Prison. We didn't manage to capture any ghouls on camera but we both heard some spooky sounds in the graveyard/prison, something we will remember and talk about for years to come! Thank you Ben, what a fab tour!

A fantastic mix of fun and fright. Ben was a wonderful, knowledgeable guide, his narration equal parts entertaining and terrifying. The tour provided us with fascinating insight into some of Edinburgh's dark history and left me personally very motivated to learn more. An overall fantastic experience, can't recommend enough.
