St. Peter’s Square, known locally as Piazza San Pietro, is the massive plaza located in front of St. Peter’s Basilica. This piazza is large enough to hold as many as 400,000 people. Like the basilica, it was named after Saint Peter, the apostle whom Roman Catholics claim as their first pope.

Roman Piazza Venezia square is called Piazza Venezia (Piazza Venezia) and is a famous and large square located in the heart of the Italian capital. It is in this area, as a rule, originate all sightseeing tours of Rome, also it is at the forefront of the major and most memorable attractions of Rome. Piazza Venezia gives his beginning of the main streets of Rome.

Colle del Gianicolo

Janiculum Hill, considered by many as the eighth hill of Rome, is a peaceful and refreshing attraction close to the city center. As you walk up its pathways, you'll enjoy superb views of the city. Janiculum became very popular due to the important historical role that it played in the defence of the city. Becoming the setting for the battle in which Garibaldi repelled an attack from French troops, its paths are full of sculptures of the heroes, including Giuseppe Garibaldi.

Circus Maximus

The Circus Maximus in Rome (Circo Massimo), located between the Aventino and Palatine Hills, was an extended precinct with space for 300,000 spectators. The arena, which measured 600 meters in length and 225 meters in width, made the Circus Maximus the largest in Rome, ahead of the Circus of Flaminius and the Circus of Maxentius. In the Circus Maximus several competitions were carried out, standing out among them chariot races, in which participants tried to complete seven laps of the Circus Maximus. The competitors, mounted in small chariots drawn by horses, gambled much more than their prestige or large prizes in the races, since many of them were slaves fighting for their liberty.

We transferred from our Hotel in Rome to the Cruise port. A family of 5. Lots of luggage. Niko was our driver. He arrived early (Sunday is less busy). Really friendly. Got us to the cruise port in no time. He knew where to go, he knew how many ships were docked. Really class. Nice black merc, clean and cool with good AC.
