Last September, I had the pleasure of visiting Gaudí's Capricho in Comillas, a jewel of modernist architecture nestled in the heart of Cantabria, Spain. This early work of Antoni Gaudí, designed in his unmistakable style, stands out not only for its visual spectacle but also for the immersive experience it offers. The Capricho, or 'fancy' in English, lives up to its name with its whimsical design and intricate details. The building's façade, adorned with vibrant tiles and unique motifs inspired by nature, captures the essence of Gaudí's creative genius. The sunflower patterns that dominate the exterior are not only visually appealing but also symbolize the sun's movement as they face the sun throughout the day.

A very interesting and informative personal half day tour by Gabriela. The restoration of the old seminary is very impressive.

Beautiful little town, lots of restaurants and nice little shops around a small square. Beautiful rocky coast and beach ( can get busy). Lovely fishing harbour with excellent fish restaurants. Close to Picos Mountains Lots to see and do around and about.

Excellent tour and Mercedes is a great guide and safe driver. Just the right amount of time in each place, but I signed up for an English tour and this one was in Spanish. I understand some Spanish but unfortunately missed a lot of the information.

We booked a half day trip to Comillas and Gaudi’s Caprice which, by the way, are wonderful sites. The tour was supposed to be in English and Spanish, yet we were in for an unpleasant surprise: all the other tourists, except for us, were Spanish speakers. The first stop was the famous Seminari - the guide that welcomed us there spoke only Spanish so that we could not understand the information provided. Luckily, for the tour of Gaudi’s Caprice we had an excellent, well documente guide, speaking really good English. Thank you, Mario, for this wonderful presentation of Gaudi.

Capricho De Gaudi was the highlight of my 36 day Camino hike. The house was remarkable for its stunning architecture and features...ventilation, site placement, furniture, garden. It is an unmissable treat. Organisation and staff are very professional. Highly recommended.

The town of Comillas and the Capricho de Guadi were absolutely beautiful. Unfortunately our tour didn't last the full 5 hours and we were rushed at the Capricho. The driver sped excessively (140km) on wet slippery roads and was often looking at her phone while driving. I felt very unsafe. There were no stops for food or drink. Overall the beautiful town and buildings made it a nice day.

Very interesting building and worth visiting. It gives you the whole history of how the building came into being.
