Amazing afternoon with Chris and Angie on the cruise along the Corroboree Billabong in a section of the Mary River Wetlands. Despite its reputation for hosting a large population of saltwater crocodiles, we encountered only a few freshies and salties. The abundant birdlife around the Billabong and the sprawling wetlands, with rows of colourful lotus flowers and water lilies were the main attractions for us. Our highlights were seeing Australasian Darters, also known as snakebirds, hunting fish and observing the Jabiru, with its stunning iridescent purple-green neck, performing its "hunting dance".

Fantastic sunset cruise led by Chris from Wetlands Cruises at Corroboree Billabong. We appreciated the wealth of knowledge about the birds, trees, plants and crocodiles. Personable and fun, interacted with us all. Would absolutely recommend. The sunset tour ended with an excellent position on the billabong to take in the colours in the sky and reflections on the water.

Excellent tour. We took the bus provided from the Corroboree Hotel. Our guide Alan was very experienced with a wealth of information. Lots to see and the sunset was awesome. I recommend this tour as a must see when visiting Darwin

A straightforward, comfortable cruise that allowed nature to shine without distraction. Allen, the captain and guide, kept a low hum of pleasant factoid-filled commentary and pointed out flora and fauna alike. We saw possibly 7-8 crocodiles of varying sizes, and quite a number of rare kingfishers. An absolute highlight was travelling through a narrow channel brimming with water lilies in bloom. There really is no match to the splendid beauty of this part of the world. Would absolutely do this again.

Great experience. Alan was our captain and guide and provided a fascinating commentary for the sunrise tour. We had the opportunity to see several crocs extremely close up and a huge array of bird life. Alan was very knowledgeable and answered questions and provided us with great photo opportunities. Highly recommend getting up early and experiencing this tour to really appreciate the wetlands.

Sandy was our guide and she shared her extensive knowledge of the many animals and plants we saw on the billabong. The tranquillity of the place really hit when she cut the engines on the boat and we watched the sun sink over the horizon.
