We were catching a train to Paris in the afternoon and took a chance on spending some time at the Chateau Flaugergues and we were not dissapointed. We opted for the Duo ticket which was a 1 hour tour of the gardens and the Chateu (the family still live in the chateau), a wine tasting experience, 3 course lunch in the restaurant and a bottle of wine to take away with you. The quality of the food and wine was exceptionally and you get all of this for 2 people for just $85 euro, what a bargain.

Highly recommend: estate has six gardens, 36 acres of winery and garden vegetables. Owner of property gave us a tour of the five rooms of his home with background stories and answered all questions. Afterwards he lead the three wines with a tasting outside in their patio. Entertaining 90 minutes schedule it

Interesting country house (“Folie”) overlooking Montpellier. The visit includes the history of the family and the building, and ends with a wine tasting. You can get there with tram line number 3, plus a 20 minute walk. The alternative is to take a cab, faster, but more expensive.

Une belle demeure, qui est restée la propriété des descendants. L’intérieur n’est accessible qu’en visite guidée, « coulisses du château », avec un très bel escalier (25% de la surface!) et 4 ou 5 pièces.

Leuke tour, jammer dat er amper Engels gesproken word waardoor we het niet konden verstaan. Overal praatte ze ruim 15/20 min in het Frans waardoor we geen idee hadden waar ze het over had. Jammer, zonde van het geld

De tour begon met een rondje door het kasteel. De gids wisselde de uitleg regelmatig af qua taal waardoor het interessanter was om te volgen. De ronde door het wijnkelder en de winery was als niet-Frans sprekende toerist erg lang en saai want er werd 90% in het frans uitgelegd. Wijnproeverij viel ook tegen. Geen aanrader

Ons verheugd op een leuke tour door het chateaux en de wijngaard. Het waren 2 losse toeren en verschillende gidsen. De 1e deed haar best om nog wat contact te maken met groep en sprak ook Engels , de 2 bleef maar doorratelen in het Frans. Erg langdradig allemaal. Het chateaux uiteindelijk maar 3 kamers gezien. De wijnproeverij stelde ook niet veel voor. Kortom niet hoor herhaling vatbaar en lang niet zo romantisch als ik m had voorgesteld

Nous avons beaucoup apprécié la visite intéressante et détaillée de ce lieu unique . Merci à la famille De Colbert de nous ouvrir une partie de leur château et je suis ravie grâce à notre modeste participation de contribuer à l’entretien de cette charmante demeure. Nous avons plongé dans un autre temps . Tout comme dans les jardins ,on se sent transporté ailleurs . Une folie qui vaut le détour!

Très belle Folie, la mieux conservée et entretenue de Montpellier, témoin du riche passé de la ville. Patrimoine parfaitement conservé par 10 générations de la même famille.

Acceuil très chaleureux. La visite du château et du jardin était vraiment agréable. La guide très sympa et avec compétence. On était bien. J'aime bien ce château et son ambiance. Et si on a fait notre promenade dans le jardin magnifique avec les premiers fleurs, on a recontré Monsieur et Madame de Colbert. Ils sont été très amicals et nous ont offré de l'aide, si mon mari a eu un petit problème de descendre d'un petit mur. Merci encore et bonne journée à vous tous du Château de Flaugergues.
