What to expect
Midhope Castle
Lallybroch – Midhope Castle The first location on this tour is Lallybroch – Midhope Castle, ancestral home of Jamie Fraser . Outlander scenes were shot at Midhope Castle on the fringes of the Hopetoun Estate near South Queensferry. Midhope was built in the 15th Century by John Martyne, laird of Medhope. It was rebuilt in the mid 1600s and remains much the same today.
Doune Castle
Doune Castle Doune Castle is Castle Leoch in Outlander and also Winterfell in Game of Thrones and featured in Monty Python’s Holy Grail. Visit Doune Castle on a unique private tour . Our tours of Scotland set off from Edinburgh and feature visits to the top film locations
Kinloch Rannoch
Craigh na Dun standing stones The Craigh na Dun film location is at Kinnloch Rannoch in Perthshire. This is where Claire touches the standing stones and travels back in time .On the south side of the Dunalastair Reservoir in Tay Forest Park under the gaze of the spectacular Schiehallion mountain, this is scenic Highlands at its best. You will recognise the mound from the roadside. The stones feature heavily in a number of Outlander episodes including Season 7 when Roger goes back in time to find his son Jemmy
Culloden Battlefield
Clan Fraser grave at Culloden , a poignant scene in Outlander when Claire believes Jamie is dead. Culloden Battlefield, located near Inverness, is a poignant and historically significant site. For Outlander fans the Clan Fraser grave is a must see . It was here, on April 16, 1746, that the last battle of the Jacobite Rising took place. The defeat of the Jacobite forces marked the end of attempts to restore the Stuart monarchy. Today, the battlefield is a preserved site where visitors can walk the grounds and reflect on the past. The Culloden Visitor Centre offers a comprehensive exhibition detailing the events leading up to the battle, the conflict itself, and its aftermath. Culloden appears in season 1 , 2 and 3 Outlander
Clava Cairns
Clava Cairns are an excellent example of standing stones in Scotland . In Outlander Claire travels through time when she touches the standing stones
