If there’s one takeaway I can say, you don’t know how bad concentration camps were until you visit one. It is extremely morbid, and standing inside a gas chamber was one of the most mentally uncomfortable moments of my life. The deeper you go into the camp, the more chilling it gets. A woman in my tour group cried at one point and I do not blame her at all. But it really feels almost necessary to see this, and anyone who finds themselves near a camp should go. Our tour guide, Jake, did an amazing job. I would recommend taking a guided tour so you better understand the experience and can understand everything you see. Basically, go here if you are in the area, but be aware it will be a worse place than you think.

Excellent tour, Jamie, our guide, was very knowledgeable and shared stories from survivors that he'd met. The group were invited to ask questions and the tour moved at a steady pace. Good communication before the tour - email detailing exact meeting point and times. Train and bus tickets all sorted through Jamie so we just followed him and it was easy! Would highly recommend. Thank you Jamie and GoMunich Tours.

Jamie was a terrific guide to, from, and through Dachau by sharing info about Germany, Munich, and of course Dachau, the town and the camp. Jamie's sharing of individual's personal stories and their experiences plus educating us on how the Dachau the camp came to be provided a comprehensive view of this place and the people who were there from it's early conception through to today.

Our tour guide Jamie was amazing (I think that was his name!). So knowledgeable, didn't feel like he was going by a script. Really harrowing place to visit, but felt important and so glad we went.

We had a small...10 person...tour that went from Munich to Dachau. Jamie was our guide and he did a good job of sharing the history of Dachau and keeping the tour moving at a good pace. Jamie did a good job of answering questions and helping us learn what took place at the camp. First we took the train to the city of Dachau then a bus to the actual site. Travel time is about 30 minutes each way. We spent about 2 hours at the camp. During that time we visited the exhibition center, reconstructed barracks, and other buildings. The camp was larger than I expected. It is a somber experience but worth doing.

Hein was a very knowledgeable and thoughtful guide. He provided a wonderful insight into the conditions at the camp during occupation. Highly recommend this tour.
