Piazza del Campo (o più semplicemente il Campo) è la piazza principale della città di Siena. Ha una singolare forma a conchiglia famosa in tutto il mondo per la sua bellezza, oltre che per essere il luogo in cui si svolge due volte l'anno il Palio di Siena.

Duomo di Siena

Basilica Cateriniana Di S. Domenico

La basilica cateriniana di San Domenico è una delle chiese più importanti di Siena. Costruita nel XIII secolo, fu ampliata nel secolo successivo. Contiene la testa-reliquia di Santa Caterina da Siena all'interno di una splendida cappella rinascimentale. La chiesa è anche chiamata basilica Caterina per il suo legame con la santa senese e con alcuni episodi della sua vita.

Palio di Siena

Il Palio di Siena è parte integrante della storia della città e del popolo senese. Nel 1633 è documentato il primo Palio corso dalle Contrade in Piazza con i cavalli. Da allora, il Palio si è sempre svolto tra le "contrade di Siena" che si riferiscono a ciascuna delle diciassette suddivisioni storiche della città all'interno delle mura medievali.

San Gimignano

il nome di San Gimignano deriva proprio da quello del vescovo di Modena, quando - leggenda vuole - il santo durante le invasioni barbariche salvò la città dalla minaccia di Totila apparendo miracolosamente sulle mura. Lo sviluppo di San Gimignano avvenne soprattutto nei primi tre secoli dopo l'anno Mille, quando si trovò in una situazione geografica strategica. La Via Francigena divenne nell'Alto Medioevo il percorso dei pellegrini diretti a Roma. San Gimignano domina la collina con le sue numerose torri, tredici delle quali si contano ancora oggi. Si dice che nel XIV secolo ce ne fossero settantadue, almeno una per ogni famiglia benestante, che poteva così dimostrare, attraverso la costruzione di una torre, il proprio potere economico.
