It was a horrible experience! I could’ve given 0 or negative if possible. I booked it 10 days before the tour stating. No one contacted me and responded my questions about the train tickets, exactly meeting point location and tour guide information, until the day before the tour, also after I complained to TripAdvisor a few times. They asked to change the tour date 1 day before the tour scheduled. I told them my plan has been scheduled fully, no way to change at the last minute. The train tickets were finally emailed me, started late as listed on the itinerary, then no one with the company Logo or my name at the Venice train station when I arrived. I had to use TripAdvisor website to submit a few messages (company phone number was fake and no one answered). Finally the tour guide arrived at the train station at noon time. He was nice, but had to leave early. The day tour was done by 0230pm. I spent $180 for day trip but It was only 2.5 hours! I asked to refund and they declined 😡

Trip was cancelled without warning. We booked 10 tours in Italy with Viator for a two-week vacation celebrating our 40th anniversary. The trip to Venice was supposed to be the highlight of our celebration. The excursion was booked months in advance, and then cancelled without warning. My first clue should have been the disclaimer that was displayed for this tour, but not for any other tour that I booked: "The local tour operator does not allow changes to this booking - all sales are final" The second clue was a simple question I submitted, one month before departure. After submitting the question a second time, one week later, my questions was not answered for three weeks. My third and final clue that this was an unreliable tour operator (Italian Holidays) was that the train tickets did not arrive the day before, as promised. I called them multiple times, in the afternoon on the day before departure, from within their own time zone. They would not answer the phone. They did attempt to call me via WhatsApp, after I began calling them, but I was on the phone with Viator and unable to take their one and only attempt to reach me. One hour later I received a cancellation notification through Viator. I searched for other tours to from Florence to Venice, to book in its place, but could only find one private tour for 9-times the price, which was way out of our price range. This was a horrible experience during what should have been a happy vacation. Do not book this tour.

I was disappointed with this tour as it was very misleading about providing a tour guide for the trip. I was surprised to show up in Venice and be greeted by someone who basically escorted us to the center of the city and left us to do the sight seeing on our own. So I basically paid a substantial amount of money to have the company buy the train tickets and escort us from the train in Venice to the center of Venice. I would highly recommend if you are considering a trip to Venice from Florence not to use this tour group as the description of this tour is very misrepresented.

Had an excellent tour guide! Andrea was very knowledgeable and couldn’t have been any nicer! Would recommend this tour over and over again! Venice was beautiful!

Andréa was a fabulous guide loved every minute. He was incredibly knowledgeable about architecture on the history of Venice a true Venetian. The problem with this tour lies solely in the organization of the trip and the haphazard delivery of tickets and information prior to the tour. The tour was supposed to start at 7 AM however 9 PM the night before we were notified that the train leaves at 8:45 only upon arrival to Venice, where we informed that our train coming back leaves at 4 o’clock, quite a short day, there is no local tour guide provided at the Florence train station. You are sent a picture of a confirmation number for the train and left to your own devices.

Italian Holidays canceled my tour, they told Viator to refund my money, I never requested anything. I had to go to Venice by myself. I doubt to make a reservation with you anymore, much less with the Italian agency.

This is my second review and request for a response from Viator. I have not yet been contacted to respond to the issue I outlined. I was told that the train to Venice would be non-stop and that we would be arriving early in the morning. The train had multiple stops and I did not arrive in Venice until after 11 am. This left limited time to explore the City contrary to the description of the trip. The best part of the tour was the Venice Tour Guide. Andrea was excellent. He was well informed, professional and and courteous. After the tour, however, we felt very rushed due to the return train time. This is not acceptable. We spent over 5 hours of this tour on a train which was not what was advertised. I would not have paid so much money for this tour had I been told this information ahead of time. The fact that I was told the opposite, which I have in writing from the tour operator, and the lack of any response from Viator or the tour operator about this, is most disappointing and upsetting. I again renew my request to speak with an agent to rectify this issue. Please respond. Thank you kindly.

We met a tour guide, Andrea, when we visited Venice. He is one of the best tour guides we've met so far. As a native Venetian and an architect, he was very knowledgeable and was able to share extraordinary stories which made my family so engaged and excited. We visited several restaurants and gelato shops on his list of recommendations and were all very satisfied. He made our trip to Venice unforgettable. I believe he can make yours too.
