Your Itinerary

Dante's View

A stunning view overlooking the entire Death Valley and previewing what will be explored through the rest of the day.

Zabriskie Point

Unique rock formations reminiscent of the Badlands in South Dakota show us what happens when rain flows over rock for a few thousand years.

Mesquite Flat Sand Dunes

Walk on the largest sand dunes formed in the middle of Death Valley, surrounded by mountains on all side. Just down the road is Furnace Creek, where the worldwide temperature record is consistently set.

Golden Canyon

Hike deep into the canyons as the sun turns them a bright golden. ECA guides will make we are fully prepared for all that Death Valley has to offer, making sure you group hikes safely.

Artists Palette

Layer upon layer of differently colored minerals form a rock formation that would make Bob Ross proud.

Badwater

At 160ft under sea level this is the lowest point in North America and our last daytime stop. Hiking an additional mile into the valley, we will find ourselves amongst unique hexagonal salt flats as the sun sets behind Telescope Peak in front of us.

Death Valley National Park

As we exit the park, we will travel through the incredibly remote southern portion of Death Valley. While it cannot be guaranteed for any trip, should the right conditions exist (no/little moon, no could cover, clear visibility, etc.) we will stop to do astrophotography and stargazing with the Milky Way,

A visit to Death Valley National park is a must if you are in this part of the country. The landscape is breathtaking despite it being barren and seemingly lifeless. I drove thru west to east and was amazed by the overall beauty of the park. I do not recommend the summer as May was 108 at the visitor center.

Death Valley NP is a must-see if you are in the area and apprciate national parks. It's barren and stark, yet has a variety of landscapes. It's the largest national park south of Alaska. Must - see list: Dante's Peak, Mesquite Flats Sand Dunes, Devil's Golf Course, Zabriske Point, Artiste's Palette. If it's hot, go to the higher elevation at Dante's Peak where it's cooler. You drive up and hike a short moderate hike to get the best views. We stayed overnight at Beatty, NV. A two-day visit will cover the highlights. Highly recommended. Come early in the day to avoid heat.

Visited in mid-January of ‘23 so it wasn’t hot; max temps were in the low 70’s and a great time to see the sights. DV is apparently very windy most of the time, so be prepared. Highlights include Badwater and Devil’s Golf Course, and the Borax 20 mile team processing and shipment site. Unfortunately, erosion induced from flash floods have closed the northern half of the park for an indefinite period, so only a limited portion is open to the public. I would not recommend hiking significant distances here unless in the winter, and with a fairly calm day. Photo is of the Devil’s GC

Ryan put together a fantastic 2 week trip for my husband and I to visit multiple National Parks in California. We started in Death Valley, then went to Joshua Tree NP via the Mojave National Preserve. After that, it was on to Sequoia NP, Kings Canyon NP, Yosemite NP, and finally Lake Tahoe. He listened to all our requests and came up with a trip that allowed us to see and do everything we had envisioned. On top of that, he accompanied us to Death Valley and arranged for other guides to go with us to the other parks. This made our trip so easy! We didn’t have to worry about figuring out directions or even where we might want to go - it was all done for us. Also, in addition to helping us with our photography, the guides took great photos of us together (which we don’t usually get since one of us is always on the other side of the camera)! Pretrip communication was thorough. We got a full packet of information about locations, directions, maps, weather, and suggested gear. I can highly recommend Ryan and his company and can’t wait to take another adventure with his company soon!

Thank you Ryan for 4 amazing days, including Death Valley, Hoover Dam, Red Rock Canyon and Mojave Desert. Ryan spoke with us a couple of times before our trip to make sure everything was to our liking including snacks😊 He did not disappoint. Ryan was full of knowledge about the places we visited and could talk on just about any subject that came up. The vehicle was comfortable and Ryan's driving was exemplary. We saw some amazing scenery which Ryan only enhanced by his photography skills. Would highly recommend Elite Custom Adventures. Once again thank you Ryan, hope to do future tours with you to one of your other fantastic destinations.

Our family had a wonderful time with Ryan @ Death Valley! His hospitality ( & food) was fantastic! The prof.photos and video was just excellent. The astrophotography shots, of the Milky Way especially, was surreal. We had a great time celebrating my birthday! Highly recommend Ryan/ECA if you want quality and custom photography. Thanks Ryan! The name of the company says it all: Elite. Custom. Adventure. I rarely write reviews. I am taking the time to do this because Ryan and Elite Custom Adventures deserve to be recognized for going so far above and beyond expectations. The most striking aspect was Ryan’s excitement and passion for what he does. Ryan’s expertise/knowledge with regards to photography and Death Valley National Park as well as his comprehensive, meticulous attention to detail. He came prepared with snacks and a gourmet meal as well as products for anything and everything that could possibly come up (extra face coverings, a brush to clean our lenses, chapstick, aspirin) and no telling what else he was prepared for. This allowed us to relax and enjoy our time knowing that we were covered no matter what. We really enjoyed the scientific and historical education on Death Valley. Additionally, Ryan taught us how to maximize all of the functions on our photography equipment to capture some great shots on our own, while using his own equipment to document our entire experience. We will be booking a similar adventure at a different national park.

I had an amazing time with Elite Custom Adventures because Ryan goes above and beyond. He made it clear that the trip was fully customizable and he planned a great itinerary that reflected my interests - going on some stunning hikes, taking some of the best photos I have of myself, and even teaching me how to use the camera myself. Ryan’s dedication was further demonstrated by the time he put in both before and after the trip, with a Zoom call to prepare and plan, and him editing the photos we each took after we returned. Ryan’s passion for adventure and photography was undeniable and he was clearly committed to ensuring I had the best experience. He is truly professional and I recommend taking a trip with him.
