What to expect
Cabo Espichel
The Cabo Espichel is the wild and barren headland on the southwestern tip Setubal Peninsula. This is a dramatic region formed of wind-blasted landscapes and towering cliffs, which are ceaselessly pounded by the ferocious Atlantic Ocean. Cabo Espichel is ideal for tourists who appreciate nature’s raw beauty.
Castelo de Sesimbra
The Moorish castle of Sesimbra stands high above the pretty fishing village and has guarded the town since its early founding. The castle was one of the first victories for the Christian conquest of Portugal over the Moors in the 12th century and its strategic positioning was important for the defence of early Portugal. For visitors the who make the 230m climb up to the castle will be rewarded of stunning panoramic views over Sesimbra and the surrounding coastline. Inside the castle there are extensive battlements, a pretty church, many visitors simply come for the views.
Sesimbra
Visit to Sesimbra
Baia de Setubal
It is a bay comprising calm waters, framed by the River Sado estuary, the Sierra da Arrabida and the Peninsula of Tróia. It is characterised by its scenic beauty, its great tourism potential and the natural importance of its surroundings (the Nature Reserve of the Sado Estuary and the ArrábidaNature Park), which makes it a unique place with an internationally exceptional natural heritage. the Bay of Setúbal, where the River Sado and the sea meet, is a place that invites you to enjoy all kinds of water sports, recreation and leisure activities and where the dolphin community can make you a surprise and welcome you.
Castelo de Palmela
The Castelo de Palmela is impressive from the distant lowlands and grows to dominate the skyline closer to the village of Palmela while the grander and imposing allure of the castle is not diminished on visiting the interior of the national monument. Inside the castle’s walls is the Igreja de Santiago church, the espaços museum and the entire castle to explore which from the battlements provide fantastic panoramic views over the region.

Praia do Portinho da Arrabida
Located within the Serra da Arrábida Natural Park, Portinho Beach is deemed one of the prettiest in all of Portugal. Its fine white sands and the various tones of blue of these clear waters contrast with the deep greens of the hills to create a beautiful scenario that is perfect for contemplative relaxation. This calm bay is good for diving to enjoy the diverse marine life although fishing itself is forbidden given that the seabed itself is included in the Natural Park's protected area
