What to expect?

Despite their name, comb jellies do not sting, allowing you to safely catch and hold these gentle glowing creatures right at your fingertips. Our tour was cancelled for wind. I did not read the fine print to see that refunds are not issued for poor weather, so I am out over $200 because our family flew out the next day and we could not reschedule. They refused to budge. This is very wrong. Their competitor, Calypso Kayaks issues a full refund. Go with them.

Wonderful tour! The info on the ad is a little misleading. There are 2 bioluminescent species and depending on the season you go only 1 will be active at night. In the summer the algae, and in the cooler winter the jellyfish. We saw the jellyfish, it was an amazing experience to see them light up when they are touched. (They are non venomous) There are also amazing views of the stars and being on the water is so peaceful. Our tour guide was eager to answer any questions and worked hard to make sure we could find the bioluminescent life.

It was a beautiful night and our guide, Chaz, was very interesting to listen to and very knowledgable. Having been on a tour once before, I was hoping to see more color. That piece was disappointing. Unfortunately, I only had my grandkids for this week or I would have booked at a later date. I will say, however, the comb jellies are pretty cool! We also had a manatee or two floating around us and that was exciting. I will absolutely do another tour--a great way to entertain friends and family.

Totally amazing. Our guide was so informative about the river and surrounding area. Even tho the plankton was blooming. The trip was more than worth it.

We almost didn't get to go due to winds but Chaz altered the route so we could at least get out on the water. March is too cold for the plankton, so we didnt see any, but the guides worked hard at finding comb jellies and were very knowledgeable on them and the eco system of the river and the bay. We had at least one manatee splash us in the river( it was dark & we scared it, I think.) It was a surreal experience to kayak the mangrove trails in the dark. Overall a great experience once again. The only downside is no refund due to weather so make sure you give yourself time in case weather doesn't cooperate.

Drew and Matt did a great job. We saw quite a few comb jellyfish . Also saw a few manatees. Kept the group together and engaged

We booked a tour through Groupon. It was $15 more than the website. It was advertised as a “Bioluminescent Tour” but was actually a Cone Jellyfish tour when we went out in the lagoon. There was no bioluminescence and there were very little cone jellies. The tour guide was awesome and knowledgeable and it wasn’t a bad time, but we definitely got sold something other than what was advertised and feel ripped off by the experience. We were told AFTER the tour that the bioluminescence typically happens in June. Then please advertise that way so people who come in from out of town aren’t disappointed in their experience.

Drew, John and Matt were nice and courteous throughout the whole experience. Drew explained safety, showed us some of the glowing jellyfish and explained the bioluminescence process. Unfortunately, the dinoflagellates were hard to see in the cooler water. The sky was amazingly beautiful and the group of kayakers were very nice. At our return back to land we saw some horseshoe crabs on the shore. How romantic 😊 I can’t wait to do it again when the water is warmer.

Had a great time kayaking at night in the clear kayaks. The stars were amazing. Chaz was very passionate about the area and knew a lot about the comb jellies. It was really neat to see them glowing. I would highly recommend this tour.

This was a very enjoyable trip in the lagoon. It was amazing how warm the water was, even though the night itself was a bit chilly. Paddling in the dark is definitely a different experience. We did see a few comb jellies, these are the glowing critters that you get in the winter months, but we also had lagoon dolphins and lots of birds saying hi.
