We spent 2 days exploring the Winton area with Bec of Red Dirt Tours. The customised tours for the 8 of us allowed us to see as much as possible over the 2 days. The extremely knowledgeable Bec informed and entertained us with her lovely personality and incredible broad knowledge of Winton, dinosaurs, farming, botany, geology, entomology etc etc. there is nothing this girl doesn’t know! Red dirt provided a very healthy fresh lunch, drinks and morning and afternoon teas. We could have stayed longer in Winton as there is so much to see and we could have listened and learnt from Bec forever. Thanks for an amazing 2 days.

What an experience! Bec our amazing guide picked us up from the camp ground with a big smile on her face and was so passionate about what she does. We went out to the dinosaur stampede which is a long drive however Bec was so knowledgeable about the local area, she made the trip amazing, spotting lots of local wildlife also! Really tasty morning tea, lunch and afternoon tea! We took our 4 kids aged between 9 and 11 and they had a great time!! Thank you so much! Highly recommended 👌🏻

I will start off with a thankyou - Luke our amazing Tour guide was amazing. He had what I call the perfect mix of Patience, engagement and a peaceful demeanour all the while being extremely knowledgeable about the region and it's history. We had a small group of 5 on our tour and we all felt like it was a highlight of each of our trips so far. Luke welcomes questions and answers them completely where he is able. The tour itself was fascinating. so much to learn about our amazing Country and it's Stories. The Dinosaur Stampede was a big surprise for me and I felt this was a great way to cap the tour along with the amazing scenery and stop points along the way. Be prepared for a big day. and let the Country speak to you through your Tour guide and the stories whilst you travel the many miles of red dirt and scenery. Even got the chance to fossick (and find) a few bits of Opal at the Fossicking stop. Good food provided and plenty of refreshment when needed. Again Thanks to Luke and Red dirt - Well worth the investment. Paul and Ruth.

This was an excellent tour and enhanced by the enthusiasm & knowledge of our tour guide Bec. She pointed out plants & animals and the geographic features and we had access to views not available to independent drivers. The tour of Dinosaur Stampede building at Lark Quarry was also excellent. A delicious lunch & morning & afternoon tea was included.

The day was great 👍🏻 Commentary along the way was quite good, informative. Lunch and morning tea were excellent. Don’t be put off by the 110 km drive, someone else is driving and he does a good job.

From the promised on-time pick up at Winton Wanderers Van Park to our drop off at the same location, our group could not fault any aspects of our 3/4 day tour to Lark Quarry. Luke, our driver and guide, was informative and well organised. Morning tea on the mesa with great views, then lunch at the quarry. As the trip is 110 km each way, much of it on rough dirt road, it means that all participants can enjoy the views and experience. Naturally, the entry to the Dinosaur Stampede was included in the cost.

Visiting the station surrounds and spectacular scenery and the actual stampede site was incredible. Must see at Winton

Wow! What an experience. We are so pleased we decided at the last minute to book this tour. The history, the stories, the hardships, the scenery, the enormity of our gorgeous country. The wonder of what could still be there to be unearthed! Our Tour Guide/Driver, Bec was amazing. So knowledgeable and nothing was too much trouble. What would I change if I could: The bus seat backs are too high and the window seat person cannot see anything ahead of them. 4 hours of looking out a side window doesn’t do much for one’s neck. IMPO, We couldn’t really communicate with our driver and we felt separated by the cabin compartment. Overall, would we recommend it to anyone-heck yes!

Our guide Bec was fantastic - she shared so much of her knowledge about the bush, wildlife and the Winton area which made the day really interesting. Then seeing the dinosaur stampede was incredible. An awesome tour and would highly recommend.

Outstanding tour to this internationally significant site. The Merton Gorge is spectacular and our tour guide Luke's knowledge of the history and geology was exceptional. The dinosaur interpretation and guide Silky also excellent. The provided morning tea, lunch and snack was tasty and healthy.
