We will stop at one of the best known cafeteria in the world, the famous Piriquita, where you will have the opportunity to taste the sweets. regional flavor.

Casa Piriquita

Casa Piriquita's pillow is a typical sweet from Casa Piriquita. On the outside it has a delicate puff pastry and on the inside a filling with egg cream and almond, also having a secret ingredient that makes it appetizing to the mouths of the whole world. During the Second World War, Casa Piriquita felt the need to innovate, given the difficulties experienced at that time. Sintra is really beautiful and Paula is an amazing guide who grew up and still lives there. It was, however, very crowded on a Sunday/holiday.

Goodfoodappreciated

My husband and I took a trip to Sintra whilst staying in Lisbon. Having researched a lot on the internet regarding parking etc we have some advice. We parked a 10 minute walk from the centre at the Interface car park. This car park is at one of the Sintra stations. Large car park and only cost €1:50 for 4 hrs. Station workers not helpful at all bud a bus driver was great. If you want to use the WC at the station will cost you 50cents but very clean. After a 10 minute walk into town you arrive at a second railway station where you can pick up the ‘tourist’ bus which does 2 different circuits of the palaces and castle etc but be warned these are very busy even in April but worth seeing.

Patricia was an excellent guide and driver. She knew the areas and special stops that were memorable and when possible, away from crowds.

Jorge was an amazing tour guide. He knew many historical facts, guided us through the ticket-buying processes, and was also a very safe driver! Having a guide was a must-have to cover everything we wanted to see in Sintra for one day. Perfect tour for us!

Enjoyed the beautiful castles and the history associated with them. Our tour guide Paula was exceptional with her knowledge and her attitude. She told us many things about the region and it's rich and interesting history. Anyone who gets her as a guide is lucky.

We booked the tour early morning on the day, as it is available. The confusing part it says available for pick up at hotel but when we booked it says outside area. Our hotel is in Lisbon city center. Soon we received text from tour operator that they can’t pick us up but will meet at Sintra train station. We learned quick how to get there and reschedule the trip to an hour later. Our tour guide took us to the places listed on the tour, however we did not have enough time to visit in person/inside in 3 places, due to late start and early end (6 hrs), due to traffic. However, he gave the story and we passed by the sites. It’s impossible to visit these places on our own in one day, so we are okay not to visits all of them. We are grateful as he took us to a local Portuguese restaurant where we could taste the traditional food. Thank you!

This is the BEST way to see the highlights of the palaces and highlights of Sintra! Patricia was seriously the absolute BEST guide...fun, kind, informative, knowledgeable, adaptable, and truly gave us a highly personalized and full experience of Sintra. If you want to see the highlights of this fantastic town, then this is the way to go. We were able to see lookouts off the beaten path that only locals would know about and also didn't have to waste time worrying about navigating or parking the car. Would definitely do this again and highly recommend to anyone considering this excellent tour!

Madi and I had an amazing, unforgettable guided tour throughout Sintra. Julio was our tour guide and he is incredible: charismatic, caring, and knowledgeable. He arrived to the meeting location promptly and was relaxed when waiting for us, despite rains delaying our arrival. He did not cause us any stress or hurry us, allowing us to set a comfortable pace before the tour officially begun. Additionally, we had previously visited a site on the itinerary the day before, Julio was able to quickly and seamlessly update the itinerary to accommodate us. Julio picked us up in a convertible, dropped the top, and smoothly drove throughout the winding streets of Sintra. His smooth/relaxed driving was greatly appreciated as previous drives around the Sintra streets with other drivers caused Madi motion sickness. Julio took us to sites we had not seen before, including some not listed on the itinerary. Julio provided detailed background to these significant locations and gave us time to step out and experience the sites. Rain was coming and going as we approached the entrance to Pena Palace. Julio provided Madi with his rain coat and gave us an extra umbrella so that we could fully enjoy our time at the Palace. I had been in contact with Eduardo since booking the guided tour. I explained that I wanted to propose to Madi at the end of the tour, at Cabo da Roca. He assured me that the tour would be private, just Madi and myself and that our guide would accommodate us, tailoring the itinerary to work for the proposal. Julio being our guide was the best choice from Eduardo and the O turista team. He was supportive and willing to tailor the itinerary to best support the proposal. On top of this, he saved the day when weather at Cabo da Roca was to severe for a proposal, 40-50 mph winds, and suggested a new location. This location couldn't have been better, possibly beating the original. He worked with the photographer I had hired and they coordinated the arrival and new location. Julio even took some photos of us with the photographer during the proposal. Attaching them to the review. Kudos and thank you to Julio!

This was an unforgettable end to our trip in Portugal. Julio was an excellent tour guide from beginning to end. His communication before and during our tour was stellar. We contacted Eduardo with questions prior to booking and he was able to answer all of them and confirm we would have a private tour in our own vehicle. Julio met us with a warm and welcoming personality that stayed with us throughout the day. He was in red charismatic and I truly could have listened to him talk all day! We were driven around town in a cozy and clean convertible car which gave us a new perspective to the city we had spent a few days in. Julio got to know us a little bit and when we shared our love for history, he catered his information to interest and excite us, with his VAST knowledge of the city and a love for discovery. The scenery was romantic and inspiring. Julio adjusted our itinerary to accommodate that we had already visited one of the major stops, the Moorish Castle, previously in the week and showcased other beautiful locations. When the weather was indecisive (and it will be- it’s Portugal!) Julio was very kind in sharing his extra umbrella and even an extra jacket (which I needed for the hike through the gardens at Pena Palace- BRRR!!!) Had that been the end of our tour I would have been incredibly content-but little did I know, Will (my boyfriend), Eduardo, and Julio had been in cahoots long before our day trip! Julio seamlessly diverted our tour for a side stop that turned out to be the most dreamy, magical proposal I could have ever expected. It turned out, my now fiancée’s plans had to be changed due to weather and Julio saved the day with this location suggestion. Ladies, I can’t guarantee you’ll end this tour with a ring on your finger, but with the incredible views, romantic destination points, and top notch service from this team- your man just might pop the question!
