The sites were amazing! The start at the coach station was a little rough as the place was large and we weren't told what to look for. The first person we asked directed us to the wrong area. Luckily the 2nd person we asked directed us to the correct spot. Ended up feeling little rushed at Oxford and wish we could have spent some more time there. This is the only non-refundable tour I've seen on Viator, which had me nervous that we could be out a lot of money if something were to have come up. I would have booked a cancelable one if one had been available.

Upon purchasing this very expensive nonrefundable tour with premium tours, you are Emailed directions on exactly when to check in, the bus loads, the bus departs. When you arrive, it is complete chaos. The tour company employees inside the Coach station have no idea what is going on, cannot seem to round people up properly and they just keep telling you with every question – don’t worry we won’t leave you. Well, us and about 15 other people almost got left because of the complete inefficiency of the employees. As they are shutting the doors in our face, I told the employee that there is a whole group of people waiting for the announcement to get on the bus. She had complete shock on her face and ran back and grabbed the rest of the people. Announcements are very hard to understand and spoken so quickly that the average person cannot figure out what is going on. The timeframe you are given is incorrect. The notice boards are not updated correctly. I was booked on two different tours, two different days and it was complete chaos both days. Once on the bus, the guide and bus driver were fabulous Or tried to be. There were way too many people on this tour about 74. The guide attempted to walk us around and give us a tour and it just did not work. There were too many people, walking in and out of the streets, could not hear the tour guide, etc. complete waste of my $430.

Lovely day trip to see some of the Downton Abbey filming locations and Oxford. Carol was an excellent guide and a fountain of information. Only downside is the tour size is much larger than other tours I’ve been on (approx 75 ppl) so it was hard to hear the walking tour. Otherwise everything was great!

The whole tour was fantastic! Oxford was an unexpected surprise. Downton Abbey did not disappoint either. Our tour guide Peter was fabulous.

Peter was an amazing tour guide! I liked how he weaved the story of the creation of Downton with historical facts. I also enjoyed his sense of humour and his interaction with every guest on board our bus! As a fan of the show it was awesome to see where and how the show was filmed.

Oxford University was very interesting, and I really enjoyed Highclere Castle. It was just like the series and the pictures from the show in each room was super special. It made me feel that I was right there with the Downton show!

We had an amazing time on this tour! We loved seeing all the sights from Downton Abbey! And our tour guide Ava was the best thing since sliced bread. She was so funny and engaging. It was a long day, but a good one. We’d take this tour again!

Our tour guide Frank was wonderful - full of wit and funny and interesting stories as we went about our day. It's a long day trip but definitely worth it for how much we got to see and do. Oxford was full of history and we had some time to get food. The village of Bampton was nice and it was a real treat to be able to go inside the church where they have filmed so many scenes. And of course, Highclere Castle was amazing - our tour guide played the theme song of Downton Abbey as we got close which was really delightful and added a lot to the tour as most of us were there to see the castle. Only drawbacks: no charging stations on the bus for our phones. Given that we're gone for almost 12 hours and most of us are taking so many pictures, etc., it would have been nice to have to keep our device charged - most other tour buses have those USB charging stations at each seat. Also, it would have been nice for the tour guide to express the importance of everyone being on time for all of our departure points. Every single time we were a few minutes late leaving because a couple or two were late. With such a large group and the time crunch we're in, it'd be nice if people could respect that time.
