What to expect
Cattedrale Di Segovia
Chapel of the Descent from the Cross: One of the many chapels found in the Cathedral, the Chapel of the Descent from the Cross is the most theatrical one. It was named after the altarpiece by Juan de Juni featuring the deposition of Christ’s body from the cross. Profound expressions, Italian mannerism and gold are all there. Listen to the stories and admire religious painting at its finest. Paintings Museum: Besides the works of art found at the chapels, the Cathedral of Segovia also features a painting museum. Descent from the Cross by Ambrose Benson and a copy of “The Fountain of Grace” by Jan Van Eyck, are among the most prominent works on display. Listen to the stories and lose yourself in the majesty of Portuguese art. Second floor of the tower: The second floor of the Cathedral’s impressive tower was actually the bell-ringers house. Quite spacious with an amazing view, this was quite the place to be. The only minus; the 130 steps the bellringer had to climb to ring the bells.
The experience can be subject to change due to bad weather or unforseen circumstances. We always endeavour to give you the best possible experience.
