There are several lovely places in Edinburgh to go for afternoon tea - but what about 'tea on the go' and having a bit of fun? This is where the Red Bus Bistro comes in. It departs from St Andrew's Square and potters around the centre of Edinburgh whilst participants ensure that their fizzy drinks do not spill and enjoy a very pleasant and tasty afternoon tea. Pop music is perhaps a little loud - but if you do not join in 'YMCA' you are a 'party pooper'. Very good atmosphere and obliging staff. The bus stairs are quite steep and two of the party had 'leg problems' but managed to negotiate the steps with a bit of encouragement. There is a toilet stop near the Parliament building (steps again) but as the experience is a 90 minute one this should not be a problem. There are toilets in Harvey Nichols and TK Maxx, both near the bus' last stop on St Andrew's Square. Go for it!!

What an excellent time we had. Staff George, Helen and a great driver who's name I've forgotten treated us so well. They were friendly, great banter and looked after us so well. We were celebrating my friend Heather's birthday. Food delicious and plentiful, tea and fizz to wash it down. Singalong gr8 fun. Would def recommend and book up again. Was great fun.

I came with my husband and 2 children for our anniversary. The food was lovely. My little boy is dairy free and he was very well catered for. A nice drive around the city with music to add to the atmosphere. A great experience.

We did this experience yesterday and really enjoyed it. The food was lovely, we had a glass of fizz, some coffee, sandwiches, fresh warm scones and gorgeous cakes. Although the tour aspect isn’t amazing, we just loved to sit on the bus and have a nose around Edinburgh while listening to music and scoffing on afternoon tea! The bus is abit worse for wear but it’s vintage so you have to look past it. The only negative for me was there was quite a bad smell on the bus like damp/feet 🤣 but all in all we did enjoy! Thank you.

Fabulous time with friends on Ediburgh Red Bus Bistro Afternoon Tea (April 6th). Our tour guide and host Danielle was an absolute star and entertained everyone on board. Food and service were excellent too. Tremendous fun enjoyed by everyone. Birthdays, Hen Party and a medical miracle all catered for on that day. Highly Recommended !

What a brilliant way to spend 90minutes. Prosecco on arrival. Gin from a teapot and food. The atmosphere was amazing and the staff were helpful and funny. Definitely one to be booked again. Well done to you all.

Great trip, nice staff and something different to do. Was bought as a gift but would have paid for this myself and would definitely recommend it... my wife loved it too.

What a blast. People on the bus were fantastic, so thank you to Amy and Sean and Przemek for being so kind and attentive and thoughtful. We took the Red Bus Bistro tour of Edinburgh after getting married, and arrived at St Andrews Square to find the Red Bus Bistro decked out like a wedding party with balloons and lights and sparkly decorations as a surprise for us. I cannot recommend this tour of Edinburgh highly enough. It was amazing, and Przemek and Amy our hosts, and Sean our driver were really lovely, friendly, considerate and fun. Treat yourself to a Red Bus Bistro tour of Edinburgh, I'm so glad we did. A massive thank you to our hosts from me and my partner and our thirteen very happy guests. All my best wishes and a thousand thank yous to Amy, Prezemek and Sean from Mark and Kelly Murdoch.

A very warm and welcoming trip. Staff were brilliant, knowledgeable, friendly and accommodating. Afternoon tea was excellent - especially the warm scones on a cold wet day. Opportunity to take photos of bus and sit in driver's cab a bonus. Well worth doing.

What a lovely way to spend a wet Edinburgh afternoon. The vintage bus was so quaint . The afternoon tea was delicious. Sandwiches on different types of bread warm scones with jam and clotted cream and an amazing selection of cakes and pastries. Prosecco was included and you could have as much tea as you wanted. Helen was a great host very funny. It wasn’t a guided tour but you don’t need it.
