Such a fun way to explore beautiful Edinburgh. Johann was friendly, knowledgeable and accommodating. He has traditional and eBike options so the tour will work for any fitness level. Highly recommend this half day outting, it does not disappoint!

This was one of the best tours we've ever done. We biked almost 30 Km (!) and saw Edinburgh from top to bottom on electric bikes with our very knowledgable guide, Johannes. From the coal canal to Arthur's Seat atop Holyrood Park, and even down to the beach - we saw it all and I have to say, Edinburgh is just a beautiful city. We were there at the end of April and lucked. into a crisp but sunny day. All the trees and flowers around the city were in bloom! As long as you have ever ridden a bike, you can do this tour, and it is the absolutely the best way to really see Edinburgh!

Johanne was amazing! We did a walking tour the day before and were able to do a wider and outlying tour on the bikes. Best thing ever! Highly recommend!

Johann was a wonderful host. He is very personable, patient and knowledgeable. The electric bikes were in great shape. The route was perfect and largely on bike paths. We learned much about the city throughout a 16 mile ride around the perimeter of Edinburgh. Our interests were piqued for additional urban exploration. Great fun and exercise!

Had a lovely, lovely half-day on this guided ride with Johann. This was a great way to see a little of everything in Edinburgh, and Johann was a great source of information. I enjoyed getting to know the other folks on my tour…there were three solo participants and one couple, so if you’re a solo traveler, don’t let that stop you. On a practical note, this ride has a few hills, but is extremely doable, especially on an electric bike. I’m not as in shape at the moment as I would like to be (I blame you, winter)…but it was an easy ride. I could have gone a few more hours! If you’re on the fence, book with the Tartan Bicycle Company ASAP! (Review also copied to Google.)

The best excursion we have ever done on a trip. Too many highlights to count! We ranged in age from 21 to 82. Get the ebikes and enjoy a unique way to explore the city!

We had a fantastic half day out with Johann from our 9 am pickup time at our accommodation to our reluctant finish around 2 pm. We hadn’t been on bikes for 30 years but our lovely manual ones were lightweight and comfortable to ride with loads of gears which were intuitive to use and made getting up the few inclines quite easy. Johann was warm, friendly and full of interesting information. He really brought Edinburgh to life for us (and it was just the two of us). We loved the mixture of city, hill and seaside, mostly on excellent cycle paths. Our only regret was not booking a full day out.

Amazing tour of Edinburgh and surroundings. Bikes provided were of good quality and ideal for the tour. Owner of bike company led the tour which turned out to be essentially a private tour of town. He knew the area well and provided plenty of the area's history as we rode. We wouldn't hesitate to take another tour with The Tartan Bike Company.

Johann was just brilliant. We had booked the tour to find out more about e-bikes rather than a tour of Edinburgh ( though we really enjoyed the insights he gave us). He told us so much about e-bikes which will help in our decision regarding buying one. His insights were invaluable.

My partner and I took this tour last year September and thoroughly enjoyed it! Having been to Edinburgh before, this tour took us to unique destinations and breathtaking vantage points. Johann is an EXCELLENT guide - very accommodating and friendly. I highly recommend doing this cycle tour! If you’re still deciding whether to opt for the e-bikes or normal bicycles, go for the e-bikes… it makes the whole experience a lot more enjoyable!
