Highlights
What to expect
Niagara Falls State Park
Enjoy a comfortable ride in an air conditioned SUV/van enjoying the scenic landscape of upstate New York (travel time is approximately 7 hours, each way, with a few rest stops) on your journey north. Upon arrival at your destination, you will begin experiencing the adventure, beauty, and natural wonder of Niagara Falls. During your visit, you will learn about the interesting history of these mighty waters and enjoy spectacular views of the falls from different vantage points (depending on the weather conditions). You will have the opportunity of having lunch on your own, souvenir shopping, and exploring the beautiful Niagara Falls State Park.
Niagara Falls Observation Tower
Admire beautiful view of the falls and enjoy some awe-inspiring sceneries from the observation tower. Niagara Falls is actually not one waterfall, but three. The Niagara River flows down from Lake Erie and is divided by Goat Island. There, part of it flows to the horseshoe-shaped Canadian Falls (aptly named Horseshoe Falls), and the rest flows to the American Falls. At the American falls, the river is also split by a second small island, Luna Island, creating the third, small waterfall known as Bridal Veil Falls.
Prospect Point
The prime viewing area for the American Falls and Rapids, including the nightly illumination and seasonal fireworks. This area is also close by the Observation Tower and the Maid of the Mist.
Luna Island
This small island between the American Falls and Bridal Veil Falls has an awe inspiring view of both Falls
Bridal Veil Falls
The Bridal Veil is the smallest falls among the three waterfalls, that together known as the great Niagara Falls. The Bridal Veil Falls is in the US side located right to the American Falls separated by Luna Island. The Goat Island in the Canadian side separates it from Horseshoe Falls. The waterfall looks like a 'Bridal Veil' and thus the name Bridal Veil Falls. The Bridal Veil Falls is also known as Luna Falls and Iris Falls. The height of Bridal Veil Falls is 181 ft. Though it is a small waterfall compared to its two counterparts, it has its own specialties.
Goat Island
Goat Island (previously called Iris Island) is a small island in the Niagara River, in the middle of Niagara Falls between the Bridal Veil Falls and the Horseshoe Falls. The island is at the southwest corner of the City of Niagara Falls (and of Niagara County), New York, in the United States and is part of Niagara Falls State Park. Goat Island has no residents, but is a destination for tourists visiting the falls on the U.S. side. It has several viewing points, including from Terrapin Point. Goat Island is connected to the U.S. mainland by two bridges that carry foot, car, and trackless train traffic, and to the smaller Luna Island (adjacent to the American Falls) by a pedestrian bridge. Goat Island is largely wooded and is interlaced with foot trails.
Terrapin Point
Terrapin Point (formerly Terrapin Rocks) is an observation area located in Niagara Falls, New York at the western tip of Goat Island, next to the Canadian Horseshoe Falls. It is one of two major observation areas to overlook the falls and lower Niagara Gorge on the New York side, the other being Prospect Point further downriver.
Horseshoe Falls
Horseshoe Falls is considered the most impressive of the three falls, and the Terrapin Point offers astonishing views of them.
