MACBA Museu d'Art Contemporani de Barcelona

The Collection starts with the 50th abstraction and follows the evolution of European pop, the avant-garde of the sixties and seventies, the centrality of the word and poetic experience, and the return of photographic figurative. In order to fulfill its educational mission, MACBA offers a series of programs and resources that help visitors to engage with its contents. There's a team of full-time educators work with the public, offering presentations and guided tours at set times and tours for groups by prior arrangement. They are also available to help the public with questions that may arise during their visit to the museum, provide information on the works displayed and comment on the exhibitions. The purpose of the museum is to become a space where knowledge is created through interaction with the artworks, a place that encourages dialogue and shared reflection among educators and the many different kinds of people who visit it.

Very pour quality of art on display. Only one floor of work and staff rather rude . Would not recommend to people.

No line. Free to wheelchair users. Interesting building. Much wasted space. The displayed content wouldn’t have warranted 2/5 if done by. 5 year olds.

Pro Tips: - Free every Saturday, starting from 4PM (Open till 8PM) - MACBA doesn't have a permanent collection, so check out what is there before going there, to see if there will be an exhibit that will interest you - Plan around 2 hours, especially if you are interested in modern art. - Install the mobile application to get free audio-guide During our visit, we had the following exhibitions: - Daniel Steegmann Mangrané presents "A Leaf Shapes the Eye" - Lydia Ourahmane presents "108 Days" - Nancy Holt presents "Inside Outside"

Not worth the visit. Mediocre photographs and video art. No paintings. I'm an artist and instead, go to the Picasso museum or Museum Nacional d'art de Catalunya. MNAC

Attractive museum architecture and well organized exhibits on three floors. Art was not particularly stimulating. If you can't do "everything" you can skip this one.

Reviewing this Gallery is difficult as it has so many variations of contemporary Art. However they are all well-chosen and well displayed. There is much to please any Art lover and I recommend a visit highly. Special exhibitions are often shown. Although I chose an online purchase of a Senior ticket there was no line to wait in at the entrance. My ticket was for 11am and due to traffic build-up I did not arrive until 11.45 the receptionist was very understanding and very pleasant. Next to the Gallery is a small restaurant, Kino, where I had a very nice Caesar salad and a decent cold beer.

I loved this museum. If you like contemporary art you must visit this place. The museum has wide range of art. I also stayed a long time inside since it has allot to offer. I really enjoyed the political influences the art and the museum has. One small thing that I really enjoyed where the skaters in front of the museum. The MACBA museum is just amazing.
