Castello di Venere
This territory, on which the universitas exercised its jurisdiction, was divided into fiefdoms and contrade, whose ownership belonged to the same universitas or to private individuals: its extension was, until 1846 of about 40,000 hectares, its coastline continued for 26 miles from the beach of Castellammare del Golfo to that of San Giuliano and within it included three baronies. The first was that of Baida, which bordered to the north with the beach and whose baron enjoyed the mere and mixed empire; the other was that of Inici, of whom the Sanclemente were lords; the last one was that of Arcodaci, owned by the Monroy family. The fiefdom of Ralibesi belonged to the universitas, whose name - like that of many other districts of the region - is of Arab origin, the fiefdom Xambola, the fiefdom Lacci, the fiefdom Punta, so named for a point of land that extends towards the sea called Capo San Vito, the fief of Castelluzzo, which took its name from a castle that was located in this town, and the Sanguigno fiefdom.
