Luis from Rogue Agent was an excellent tour guide. He was so genuine, funny, and went out of his way to give us a meaningful experience. He knew a lot about our tour and the Alentejo. And if he didn’t know, he’d say so rather than give us a wrong answer. I’m very sensitive to motion sickness and I can attest that Luis is an excellent driver too. Completely recommend and would ask for him next time.

Luis was the perfect guide for my two daughters and me. He’s incredibly knowledgeable and was able to give us so much more historical content than we expected. Highly recommended!

We were very much looking forward to this tour but unfortunately the weather wasn't that great especially by Portuguese standards we were told. However it turned out to be a wonderful day out. Evora is beautiful. We also got the chance to learn everything about cork and olive oil and buy REAL cork items since a lot of it in the corner shops in Lisbon seems to be fake. Great lunch (be careful if you're a vegetarian since there aren't a lot of options and that applies to Portugal in general) and amazing wines with a very informative and enthusiastic presentation from Mariana at Ribafreixo (?) estate. Our guide Paolo was also very polite and knowledgeable. Highly recommend.

I had a really good experience with Rogue Agent last time I was in Portugal so I asked them if they could pick me and my parents up from Faro and take us to Lisbon with some stops on the way. Luis was very accommodating and he organized a tour of Evora for us and a classy lunch + wine tasting which made us snooze all the way to Lisbon! My parents also loved it.

This company canceled my tour as I was boarding the plane to Portugal! They didn’t have enough people but if I wanted to pay an additional 100 euro that would take us.hummmm beware. I searched around and found a winery close to Evora and just took a taxi.

We were two couples who had a private tour to the area of Evora, a cork factory & winery with olive oil tasting. We were picked up in a very nice car. Our guide Luis was very friendly & speaks excellent English having lived abroad. The cork factory was so interesting. We learned so much. And the bonus was that they had items made out of cork that you could purchase and this is actual Portuguese cork that they manufacture and then they manufacture so you know it’s genuine because most of the other garbage that you see is coming in from China. Winery is super modern and very stylish. We really enjoyed the wine tasting and the olive oils. The only slight disappointment to the day was that the chef at the winery where we were going to have a lovely lunch at was out ill and therefore the restaurant was closed and we ate in a local restaurant in Evora which although adequate was not as interesting as being able to eat from the chef’s menu at the winery. Of course this was not the fault of our guide so it does not reflect on this tour because the tour was excellent. We still give it five stars! Note that there is quite a bit of driving involved so it’s a good idea to book a late dinner reservation back in Lisbon. Thank you Luis for a great day!

I scheduled this tour for my mother and 20 yr. old daughter after hearing that Luis had two spots available. What a day they had! Luis is such a gentleman and treated them like family! He is super knowledgeable about the areas they visited and is so personable- and funny! I mentioned to Luís that my mother couldn’t walk great distances and he made sure she was comfortable all day, which I really appreciated. I would highly recommend booking with this company if you are looking for a tour guide who truly cares about his customers and is determined to make a memorable day for them! (And, according to my mother, he is a great driver too.)

To be honest, Evora was not on our radar to our trip to Lisbon, however after reading the description of the tour, we were intrigued. Evora is a beautiful medieval village with elements of Gothic and Roman history. Our guide, Luis, was very easy to talk with and was like an encyclopedia of information about the region. The chapel of bones is a spectacular and unique sight to behold and is a MUST see if you are in Lisbon. Our visit to Ribafreixo Winery was informative and the regions wines are spectacular. Mariana was great at explaining the process and describing each varietal and pairing appropriate wines with our lunch. The lunch was probably the best authentic Portuguese meal we had during our trip - highly recommended are the Octopus and the Pork and Clams. We gave this tour 4 stars because there was a scheduling conflict with the olive oil tasting at Oliviera de Serra, which we didn’t get to do, because the operator wouldn’t open the doors for us. Also we didn’t get to see any of the cork producing facilities, but Luís was very knowledgeable about the process and explained it to us while perusing cork goods at Évora. To make up for it, Luis took us to the Cristo Rei before returning to Lisbon, which offers awesome panoramic views of the city and the 25 de Abril bridge over the Tagus river. All in all the tour and Luís was great, and we highly recommend it.

We took this tour on May 16th with Luis and had a great time. He provided so much extra information on the various sights we saw and general information on life in Portugal which to us is part of the overall experience. The wine tasting at the winery was excellent. He is not only very knowledgeable but has a great sense of humor and was engaging throughout the entire tour. By the end of the day you felt as though you had known him for years. Highly recommend.

This was the perfect combination of beautiful landscape, an interesting old town & great food. If you're in Lisbon and want to get out of the city, see a little bit of the coutryside, taste delicious wines and regional olive oil, I highly recommend this trip. Everything was perfectly organized and Luis is a great host - and very funny!
