The bones chapel, city of Evora. Visiting the cork factory, and experiencing how cork is grows . And various products that are made from cork . Our guide , JOAO, was OUTSTANDING! Simply the best ! Excellent wine testing experience!

This tour was excellent, mainly thanks to our SUPERIOR guide, Simone. She was extremely knowledgeable and such a fun person to spend the day with. The cork factory tour was really neat and we had the opportunity to interact with one of the dry-humored, "energetic" family owners of the factory. Really neat to see all the uses and process to create. We then explored the beautiful town of Evora. We saw the bone chapel, had a wonderful recommended lunch, and viewed the cool Roman ruins. We capped the day at a beautiful vineyard. Simply cannot say enough good things about our guide as she really made the day so memorable. We loved laughing with her and learned so many interesting things about Portuguese history and culture!

This tour was a major highlight of our trip to Portugal! Our guide Joāo was super knowledgeable & friendly and took great care of us all day. And the tour itself was fantastic! The cork factory was such a unique experience - it was fascinating to see and learn where the corks to our wine bottles come from and provided a great souvenir shopping experience. The vineyard tour offered us a look at some traditional Portuguese wine making techniques which I found interesting and the tasting and lunch provided a great respite in the day. Finally, the town of Evora itself was incredible to witness! The Chapel of Bones really lives up to its name and the rest of the city was very pleasant to walk through. All in all this was a great day trip out of Lisbon that I would highly recommend!

Giuseppe was our tour guide in Lisbon for 3 days. He was absolutely wonderful! Very knowledgeable about Portugal and very entertaining. He made us feel special and well taken care of. We enjoyed the cork factory, the vineyard tour and the history of Évora.

Hard to narrow it down, we saw so much and were able to just fully immerse ourselves because we did not have to stare at a map or guide book or the dash board or sometimes very narrow roads... we were in superb hands, had an excellent tour guide and driver all in one in a damn comfy van. He knew his history exhaustively and researched anything he was not sure of. Parking was sometimes extremely limited and no longer an issue since we were dropped off if needed and when en route to the next site just sitting back and watching this beautiful scenery go by. The towns we saw, from north to south, were so well covered and meals were reserved in many. Getting extra help with selecting the accommodations when so many other tourists were trying to book Portugal was invaluable. Several river boat tours, several winery and port wine producer tours, museums, castles and more monasteries than we could believe...from Porto to Coimbra to Tomar to name just a few and towns added in, then down to Lisbon and beyond... this is a great tour company, very accommodating and able to customize to our interests on the fly which we took advantage of as we fine tuned what we were interested in. We could not have been happier and would use Van Go again tomorrow! There were high points. seeing 25,000 year old engravings (one of several UNESCO sites we toured), seeing a cork production operation, dining along the douro... this is the way to go to Portugal.

Included in our Globus Escape tour. Not necessarily something we would have chosen to do but I must say -- it was quite interesting to learn about the cork trees and how they use them for many items. Of course there is a gift shop for you to shop in. We did not get a vineyard visit at the time which I would have much preferred.

Susana is a terrific and obviously experienced tour guide! She is knowledgeable, flexible, and warm. Her passion for what she does and her desire to share with others about her country was palpable. As opposed to the guide we had for another tour, who gave minimally necessary info, Susana voluntarily shared lots of info not only about sites we visited but also about life in Portugal. I particularly appreciate her ability to anticipate and willingness to accommodate our needs. Our day to Evora turned out to be quite long. She was still as cheerful at the end as when we started the day. The car we had was spacious and very comfortable. The tour was all around a wonderful experience!

Susana was very knowledgeable of everything related to the tour and more. She gave us excellent background history of Portugal and the areas we are visiting, provided vital context for our visit. She made reservations for us at the best restaurant in Evora, the varieties of the tasting menu made the whole experience complete. But above all, she was enthusiastic about giving us the best experience possible, showed passion for her job, and really cared about our enjoyment and learning about Portugal. We made some changes to our plans, and she was willing and able to re-arrange the itinerary to make sure we got everything we asked for and more. Given that there is so much more to see in Portugal, we will definitely consider asking for her help if we return.
