Really pleasant walk around the port wine cellar over in Gaia, really interesting talk by port wine producer around history, British involvement and the various types of port wine, nice tasting session too! Then walk continued over in Porto, through some back streets and there was some history shown by the guide. More wine tasting along the way too! As party was quite large, the walk too a while to complete but a nice introduction to orientate yourself around Porto.

Alex was a great guide. She gave us a fair bit of history as we walked around the city and to the train station. The wine cellar tour and tasting was informative, the next 2 restaurant tastings were more casual.

A chaotic tour. As we departed, a group of people caught up with us saying they were on the tour. Despite having the correct documentation, they were not allowed to join. Whilst this was being sorted out, we missed the first scheduled port tasting at 2.15. We were then taken to a tour at a different venue at 3. So 30 odd minutes of not a lot happening! We visited two other venues for "wine tasting" but the guide (and the venues) offered no information or insight. At one point, I saw her organising her Istagram posting a shot of us at one of the tastings - whilst she was with us! Fortunately the people on the tour were lovely and that made up for some of the chaos. I am sure there are better tours out there.

We had a fantastic time, Solange our guide was great, she made us laugh all afternoon. There were about 20 people on the tour from UK, Canada, USA, France, Argentina and other places too. The port house tour was very good, very interesting and the guide was very good in asking if we all understood before we moved on and allowed us all to ask questions. The tasting was very good too, we tried red and white port, but you do have the option to try others but you need to pay, worth it if thinking about buying a bottle. We then went to the next stop about a 10 minute walk away, a wine bar where we tried white red and rose wine, this stop came with a couple of snacks and Solange gave us the interesting facts about the wine, our 3rd stop another 10 minute walk was to another wine bar we had a private room where we tried green wine, green wine, Solange gave the interesting information about the wine and we were also given a snack tray to share of meats, olive and cheeses. Thank you very much Solange for making the afternoon interesting and fun.

The guide was supposed to guide and provide secrets and facts about Porto. She was a lovely girl but not a great guide and provided very little information. I was on a tour with 11 ladies. There is no mention in the itinerary about the walk being ALL up hill and some ladies struggled. The guide just continued walking while others were being left behind. It would have been nice to have been aware of this before we booked the tour. The itinerary stated we would visit three port houses but we only visited one. The other two locations were just normal bars. We walked past hundreds of bars to get to the mediocre ones we visited. The second location was a real squeeze for our party and others on the tour. Not comfortable 😕 The value for money on this tour is extremely poor. I usually have great experiences with Viator but not on this occassion.

We really enjoyed our tour with Mafalda. We were extra lucky that we were the only group on the tour so we essentially had a private tour! Mafalda was an excellent guide, really informative, knowledgeable and good fun. We enjoyed the Port Wine cellar we visited and learned a lot about how they produce White and Red Port wine and we also enjoyed visiting the other bars and learning a lot about beautiful Porto. I would definitely recommend this tour ☺️

Our group of five joined this journey with high expectations because the itinerary included many well-known spots, such as the Fonseca winery, Wine Tasting room - Sala de Provas do Porto, and MO Maria Odete. However, in reality, it was not as expected. Apart from the first modest family winery, which was somewhat interesting, the subsequent restaurant appeared to be one with a special arrangement with the guide, and the food was extremely ordinary. Furthermore, at the last restaurant, we were reminded to give up the table if we had no dining plans, even though we hadn't finished our last glass of wine. Additionally, we learned from fellow travelers that we had each paid nearly 10 euros extra. This was a very disappointing and infuriating arrangement.

The Guide was excellent and took us to a small boutique port manufacturer, where the production of Port was explained, by an employee, to the Group of about 20 persons from all over the world. There was a tasting session of 3 different Ports, with an opportunity to purchase. This was followed by a short walk to a Wine Bar where another 3 Ports were sampled, along with a few tapas in a private room. On this occasion the Guide explained the differences between the 3 Ports sampled. It was at this point that the group really gelled and interacted and got to know each other. A third and final stop was made at another Wine Bar, where again 3 Ports were samples with a few more tapas, again in a private room. For those who prefer other beverages there was an oppotunity to purchase these at the Wine Bars.

Solange was our host and gave us a fantastic experience. We were lucky to have a lovely group of people to share our afternoon with too. The first venue was a port house and was very informative. We tasted white and red port. The second venue was a wine restaurant and we tasted white, rose and red. The third venue we tasted green wine. All staff at each venue were helpful and friendly and a great afternoon was had by all. I’d definitely recommend.

We had such a good time. We had Cat as our guide and she was amazing. It absolutely poured down but it really didn't matter. We got to dry off at each stop! Cat ensured the group enjoyed themselves and she was very knowledgeable. We had such a laugh with a total bunch of strangers. I recommend this tour and it's more than value for money.
