I visited Porto with a group of friends for my 40th Birthday and we booked the Porto Walking Tour as well as the day trip to the Douro Valley & Vineyards. Both tours were conducted by Diana and were absolutely brilliant. It is such a great way to visit the city and its surroundings. Diana was knowledgeable, friendly, enthusiastic and always happy to take things at our pace. She made our trip to Porto very special. Thank you! I would definitely recommend Diana and “The Other Side” for anyone looking to discover Porto and the Douro Valley.

We loved the food tour! It was a great combination of nice food, a lot of information about the city and a great guide (Diana) who told us everything about living in Portugal. We would highly recommend this tour.

We enjoyed our tour with Diana, and walked to quite a number of locations, but it would have been a better tour if she had shared more of the history, cultural and social facts and insights of Porto. It was a pleasant morning, and with only one other couple, which was nice, but the additional information would have made the tour excellent. --Not just overviews.

Raphael is terrific! He is worth whatever his pay is and more. It was like a family friend was a showing us the sights.

We met up with Marie-Ann at 3.00pm on a rather overcast afternoon - perfect for a stroll around the city. We found the meeting spot easily and the walking group totalled - TWO!! Marvellous. It meant that we could quiz Marie-Ann on every aspect of the tour and to her credit - she knew her stuff and her use of English was exemplary. The tour takes in many of the more familiar sites but there were one or two unexpected gems - the materials museum was fascinating as was the photographic museum. It really was a worthwhile tour made that bit more interesting because of our guide's obvious love and enthusiasm for her city. Thanks Marie - Ann.

The weather was cold and grey and we shared the tour with two French women which meant hanging around in the cold while our young guide did her speech in French as well as English. We didn't visit anywhere unusual and really we could have gone round and read the information ourselves. Our guide was quite sweet and pleasant but unimpressive. The 'custard tart tasting' was one tart in Nata, a chain of cafes. At least it made me walk around when I could have been in a cosy bar...??

This morning we had a super nice tour with our guide. I forgot her name (sorry!), but she knows who we are. And also she knows a lot of history and learned us a lot. It was just the 4 of us, so it was a very personal. Not formal at all and had enough time for a good laugh! Highly recommend! Ps. We took a selfie and if I somehow could get it that, it would be awesome!

With the very accomplished Raphael as our guide this very easy paced tour was informative and included enough of the sites to really help us get a feel for the city and it’s layout. Good value and many local tips from Raphael to add to the “ to do” list.

Raphael was an excellent guide showing us the side of Porto you can't find on a bus tour. He kept our 9 and 11 year old children interested and had a great knowledge of Porto - you could tell he loves this city. The stop for the most delicious custard tart (and I have tried a few!) was well timed and I would definitely recommend this tour to anyone looking for a tour that takes in more than just the 'standard'.

Fortunately for us we were the only two on this tour. David, our personal guide, had an in-depth understanding of his city and shared many stories about who, when, where, what and why. It was obvious that he loved this city and his relaxed yet professional approach gave a great insight to Porto. We’d recommend this tour but wear flat comfortable footwear as the up and down of the city can create challenges. Thank you David.
