Start this private tour by getting picked up from your hotel in Lisbon and heading off to the charming city of Évora (about 1h30 drive)
Capela dos Ossos
Visit the Chapel of Bones - all built inside Saint Francis' Convent, with thousands of bones
Cathedral of Evora (Se Catedral de Evora)
"One of Portugal’s most beautifully preserved medieval towns, Évora is an enchanting place to delve into the past. Inside the 14th-century walls, Évora’s narrow, winding lanes lead to striking architectural works: an elaborate medieval cathedral and cloisters" according to Lonely Planet
Templo Romano de Evora (Templo de Diana)
the cinematic columns of the Templo Romano, open air and uncovered after the Earthquake
Praca do Giraldo
Aside from its historic and aesthetic virtues, Évora is also a lively university town, and its many attractive restaurants serve up hearty Alentejan cuisine
Monsaraz Castle and Walls
After lunch, continue to the small town of Monsaraz. One of the oldest settlements in southern Portugal, the town has been occupied since prehistoric times and still has displays of ancient habitation, as well as hundreds of megalithic monuments. Take a walk in the citadelle and it's walls. On your own, discover the pottery, the olive oils and the wines available at each little shop and spend some time shopping.
